You May Have Heard Republicans Use The Term 'Democrat Party'
    https://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2019/02/07/why-republicans-say-democrat-party
President Trump referred to a "Democrat agenda" in his State of the Union speech on Tuesday. He's said before that he prefers the term "Democrat Party" to Democratic Party, its official name.

But it's not grammatically correct — "Democrat" is a noun, "democratic" is an adjective — and it's also seen as a slight to Democrats.

    Steve Kornacki says:

"Some Democrats kind of feel like it just sounds inelegant, it sounds rough, it sounds harsh, whatever word you want to put on it. So I think they're pushing back," he says. "They also just take it as disrespect — as a needless disrespect — as, 'Hey, this is the official name of our party. Call us by our name.' So I doubt they're going to turn around and embrace it too much."

Yet, there is common usage on the board of "Democrat Party" or
    Democrat candidate.

    Here is the rub:
Reason: Please do not start threads which do not set the basis of respectful debate by including the group insult RepubliCONs in the title Rule 11

They are Democrats which is a noun. The Party they belong to is the Democratic Party which is a proper adjective followed by a proper noun.

Substitution of a noun for the adjectival form can occur out of grammatical ignorance, or a deliberate attempt to demean, such as an anti-Semite referring to the "Jew religion" or the "Jew agenda" or any other context where "Jewish" is proper.

All the popular political parties are democratic parties if their elections are determined by popular vote of the members. The "Democratic" party, based on their last presidential (super delegate) primary shenanigans seems to be the least democratic of the parties extant in the United States. The name "Democratic Party" is therefore misleading. Possibly using quotes to indicate that the term shouldn't be taken as descriptive would be appropriate, as in the "Democratic" party.

What to we do with Democrats that refer to their party as the Democrat party? I’ve met more than a few. Hmmm.

Well, it only makes sense to call the RepubliCONs what they are in return, doesn't it? It's a good fit, since they now support a con man for president. They didn't have far to fall from their years of obstruction and phony scandals during the Obama years, but fall they most certainly have, and it seems they have no floor at this point, because Dirty Don the Con will never give them one. He will continue to go lower and bring them all down with him.

Regarding that last: Rule 11 does not say that.

Bernie refuses to join the Democratic Party, he's always refused. Do they owe him loyalty?

While it is true that Bush was very fond of using the GOP slur, it was popularized by current Reich-wing hero Joe McCarthy back in the 1940s.
