Congress has not fully delegated its powers to the President, but they have given the Executive Branch permission to do a lot of things. One of those is to lay tariffs. It has even given it permission to make law via regulations that come out of each of the different agencies that they situated in the Executive Branch, like the EPA for instance. I've railed about this for years. That Congress needs to take back its authority so that the Executive Branch doesn't have more power than it was supposed to have. But while Congress has given that branch that authority they can use it and it is not considered authoritarian. Its just the Executive Branch carrying out the powers given to it by Congress.

Remember, originally the EB was only supposed to be an enforcer of the law and negotiator between The States and Foreign governments. That was all. But over the last century at least Congress has slowly given the EB more and more power. If I gave you a fly flip on the condition that I would one day get it back should I fault you for using it? Blaming any President for using the power that they have been given is silly imo.

Congress has not delegated and (short of a Constitutional amendment) legally cannot delegate its tariff powers to the Executive. The laws they've passed allow the President, as the mere agent of Congress, to pass tariffs under the strict and clear guidelines they've provided, namely in issues of national defense. The power remains with them under the law; he can only help them execute it. Canadian steel is not a threat to national defense. Neither are BMWs. And Trump has waffled on his justification for these tariffs.

Trump's exercise of power goes beyond what he has actually been given. And even if Congress had violated the nondelegation doctrine, it would still be a betrayal of his oath of office to abuse it. He swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, not just do whatever he thinks people will let him get away with.

Recording a conversation without the permission of at least one of the people is, then admitting it by publishing the conversation in a public document makes it a slam dunk case.

Actual liberals still do all those things.

It's just that the Democrat party is now the Bolshevik party.

How else would they get the conversations? Well they could just be another Schiff made up parody.

Help me out here, because I am not educated on what happened in detail.

How did Schiff get a conversation from a journalist?
Why would he make it public and how is this ever right?
When has any member of congress come by private journalist's conversations and released them to the public?

Let me guess... you won't answer these questions.

Which part is without merit? Also, do you support Schiff sharing these conversations with the public?

Schiff broke the law. That is but another reason why we voted for Pres Trump.. we are tired of one law for them and another for us.

I don't think that Schiff obtained actual conversations. I think that he only obtained logs of phone connections. I.E. this phone called that phone and the connection lasted for 'x' amount of time.

    It's still unethical, though.

That's what I thought. You refuse to be specific and will not answer any questions. This is the modern Left.

Do you support Schiff sharing these conversations with the public?

It isn't illegal since Schiff can make the rules up. Same argument for Nazi Germany though.

Thanks for the information. So many on the Left refuse to answer questions and have real dialogue. They spout off talking points and run when confronted with views not held by the MSM and DNC.

You are insightful. That is indeed where I was driving with all of this, but wanted the Leftists supporting this tyranny to pipe up.

What Schiff did is a far greater crime than anything Trump may have done. He should be the one on trial.

Do you have evidence that he has gone beyond the guidelines that they have set out for the Executive Branch in regards to these tariffs? Because it seems awfully silly to me that if he has done what you claim then it would be better for Democrats to try and impeach him on those grounds than the current grounds which are based on nothing all that substantial. Just opinions and presumptions. Right now public opinion in key swing states doesn't favor impeachment and the national polls for it have been hovering around 48.3% for an aggregate. If what you say is true then The People might be more receptive to that than they are with the current form of impeachment.

Goes beyond? How so? And how do you know? Or is it just your opinion that he has?
