The ignorance of impeachment have backed democrats into a corner. Even they know it was a hoax driven by the fact they hate the president.

Now forced into it, they want the Senate trial to get over quickly. Hoping against hope they want to have the trial very soon, so that the stupidity of impeachment will be forgotten by election time. But--------their hopes will be dashed by the witnesses that the republican call. They might start out with Schiff, and then go completely thru the criminal Obama admin. What will be exposed may do huge damage to the democrat party, in insure a landslide for President Trump in next years election.

What makes you think that if the President and his supporters can ignore subpoenas that Democrats can't do the same?

Perhaps they can send in the federal marshals, and arrest them live on CNN....

The courts, which the dems are in such a hurry they are not even waiting for the McGahn decision they said was crucial to their investigation. Going to the courts, which is the proper way of doing this, will drag it out even further in the Senate. The investigation into Clinton lasted a couple of years.

Poor Nancy says they have to hurry to save civilization as we know it. LOL

The democrats do want a senate impeachment trial, but naturally the senate will not impeach Trump. The dems know this but afterwards they will have something, with the help of the MSM, to complain about. They actually think the voters are stupid. But watch Trump sail to a second term.

Democrats asked for this. If they refuse, it tells America this was a farce from the get go...

If the democrats had read the Constitution, they would have realized that the president is elected by the electoral college and campaigned accordingly. However, Hilary, believed the polls and decided not to campaign in a few key states.

How so? Obama was elected through the electoral college, didn't hear you folks whining about it then. You folks only whine when you lose. Woke hypocrites are worst kind of hypocrites and you folks were bad before...

You can flap your lips all you want. I didn't say a thing about reading or not reading the Constitution. I simply corrected Just A Man's statement in post #6.

You blamed the loss on the electoral college. You have to be smart enough to campaign according to the rules, not how you would have liked the rules to be now that you lost.

Because the Democrats cannot exert executive privilege.

Because the democrats do not hold the white house, and they are the accusers- failing to support their own charges has a very high liability factor. Crimes have been committed in this process of persecution. Very serious crimes.

As an independent, I had long complained by the electoral college but for opposite reasons. Prior to 2016, the "blue wall" was the wall that couldn't be penetrated, namely because CA(by way of population) has more electoral votes than anyone else. Even if our elections aren't purely "national" elections, it's hard to make that argument and have these points disproportionately given to the States.

Because the 'wall' couldn't be penetrated, so long as it wasn't it was almost impossible to foresee any Republican victory. That's why prior to 2016, Democrats were giddy about that "diverse, democratic" future, California was its guarantor.

But while California lived up to its promise of being an oversized Democratic voter, PA, MI, OH, North Carolina and Florida had different ideas.

But to be blunt, that's not a guarantee to happen again. If even a couple of those states went Democratic, Hillary's president. That's a fairness problem, but it's not one Democrats should have, it's Republicans.

Under present rules, they need 5 states(most of which are left-leaning and/or purple) to overrule one. That's insane.

The only way to make this system fair to everyone is to drop the points down to 1, each. Every State becomes important, no state can be overlooked. And a truly national election can take its place.

So then we will hit them with contempt of congress and not being the President they can't even claim executive privilege.

One of the absurd arguments from Republicans brought up last Wednesday.

There are two possible outcomes. Either Trump is found guilty, and we should proceed quickly to remove a criminal President as soon as possible. Or he is found not guilty, and we should proceed quickly so the President can go on governing as soon as possible.

I don't know why Republicans are against this moving quickly. Except if they believe Trump will be removed, and they want to keep him for just a bit longer. Or... possibility number two... they just want to move the conversation away from the facts.... Or both!
