    Not sure about that...I believe Germany agreed at a NATO summit meeting in Wales, during the Obama administration, to reach the 2% GDP target for defense spending, by 2020.

    I understand why it may be difficult for you to understand. Seeing as though the US has had to save Germany from the Nazis so many times. Not accusing you of being Nazi. I just understand that you German's are very ungrateful for all the help the US has given you.

    All good though. One day we'll pull out of NATO and you can go toe-to-toe with Russia yourselves.

    Interesting. I understand that the Germans believe the U.S. to be the instigator of the Great Recession, with the Goldman Sachs consultants teaching Greece "double bookkeeping" on their reporting their debt load to Brussels. When that was discovered, it was largely the Germans who bailed out the Greeks. So...you may think that that was your contribution (the Greek bailout) instead of the 2% target. However, I doubt there is much "trust" between the Germans and the Russians, without the counterweight balance of NATO, unless Germany intends to build its own nuclear weapons. Do you remember when that change occurred?

    I think it started in 2015 and now it would be political suicide for any politician to go to 2%.

    Russia is not seen as a threat here. Trumps hostile behavior towards Germany even leads to tendencies here to name USA, China and Russia as potential enemies alike.
