If Saudi society hadn't been shaped by 7 decades of oil money, they would still be like Afghanistan today. Probably even a little worse.

There's a lot of things about their culture that are not so good. They don't have set prices, they haggle over deals in the market. Merchants will lie and try to guilt-trip you, but it's almost not even lying because Saudi shoppers have come to expect this, and know better, it's almost become a game. Bribery is common and expected. It's almost not even bribery, since many of these acts are practically a matter of course in their culture.

Genital mutilation IS going on, but it's hard to know the true prevelance of it because it's kept behind closed doors and Saudi society is very conservative about that sort of thing, it wouldn't be talked about. The women most likely to be subject to that are kept out of public places.

Don't worry. The shooter was just another Saudi "ally" of America. We have to make peace with the fact that, every once in a while, one of our valuable "allies" from Saudi Arabia will to decide to murder as many Americans as possible, like they did on 9/11. And don't worry about why there are so many Saudis and Saudi-influenced savages committing evil acts of terrorism against westerners. It's probably just a coincidence. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Islamic dictatorship in Saudi Arabia, which we Americans are propping up with our tax dollars.

Guess he was radicalized, and this seems, now to be a terrorism investigation.

    1. At least 20% of the military personnel on our bases should be armed.
Gun Free Zones = Killing Zones.
    2. Ban all Saudi's from traveling to the US.
    3. Demand that KSA turn over everyone involved in vetting this terrorist to USG law enforcement.

Perhaps. I do want the Suadis to publicly apologize to the US and the families of those slain by their radicalized agent. SA is a very rich nation, likely they can afford the death liability of those killed, and should be held to compensate the families accordingly.

I think that any future exchange officer programs should be suspended for those nations we know have a tendency towards radical support for ISIL. For the Arabians, perhaps it's just sufficient that we say thanks, but no more and conduct any additional training in their country.

imo it isn't likely the Saudi pilot was carrying out policy, but perhaps he should be sent home to be cut up into pieces. I could relish that.

I was thinking the same thing, but seems he was "early" in the program. Didn't want to wait?

I'm thinking this might become pedestrian: love, slight, anger, passion.

Not well planned at all when one considers that within the man's grasp was 14,000 lb mach .95 jet trainer. The T-45 loaded at max speed would make a hell of a mess impacting the Pensacola Civic Center full of people.

Of course there's one more way to look at it, he was about to be exposed?

The USG needs to stop using the Big Lie to justify endless war.
The corrupt American Deep State is at "war with the truth".

"A confidential trove of government documents obtained by The Washington Post reveals that senior U.S. officials failed to tell the truth about the war in Afghanistan throughout the 18-year campaign, making rosy pronouncements they knew to be false and hiding unmistakable evidence the war had become unwinnable.
The documents were generated by a federal project examining the root failures of the longest armed conflict in U.S. history. They include more than 2,000 pages of previously unpublished notes of interviews with people who played a direct role in the war, from generals and diplomats to aid workers and Afghan officials."
WASHINGTON POST, THE AFGHANISTAN PAPERS A secret history of the war, AT WAR WITH THE TRUTH, U.S. officials constantly said they were making progress. They were not, and they knew it., By Craig Whitlock Dec. 9, 2019

Yeah, it's just a big coincidence that so many terrorists come from Saudi Arabia and Saudi-funded madrassas. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the ultra regressive Islamic dictatorship that runs Saudi Arabia.

Germans don't waste trillions of Euros on a bloated military empire either. They have virtually no military presence outside their own borders. This allows them to spend more resources on the welfare of their society. Gee, I wonder if that has something to do with their low levels of crime...

They're already worse than Iran. Much worse. Iran is a bastion of civilization compared to Saudi Arabia. Persian civilization is one of the oldest in the world. Saudi Arabia is just a big gas station presided over by a corrupt and decadent dictatorship.

His primary motivation was his opposition to US imperialism in the Middle East, AKA, the mass slaughter of Muslims by the US empire. Incidentally, that is almost always the primary motivation of terrorists who attack Americans. The intelligent way to stop future terrorism is to withdraw from the Middle East like Trump promised he would. Not only could we spend that money on America, it would take away the primary reason why terrorists keep attacking us. Naturally, we would have to destroy any terrorist group that threatened us in the interim, but that can be achieved without endless and massive occupations of the Middle East. Terrorism needs to be fought with the scalpel of special operations, not conventional occupations. There are only a few hundred core leaders and operatives in Al Qaeda and ISIS. We don't need tens of thousands of conventional forces to find them and neutralize them. We only need a few thousand operators to conduct targeted strikes and captures. Unfortunately, the political class, being the liars that they are, are not really interested in winning the "war on terror" that they started in 2001. They want it to go on forever because it's a giant slush fund for their corporate masters, especially the arms manufacturers and big banks. Nobody loves war more than a Wall Street banker.
