    *gag*

    I've had eel, and likely the mental conjure on it affected my taste buds, but no, eel is not on the menu.

    It's probably a fierce topic of discussion in Dallas this morning. :eek:

    As for myself, I'm glad to see Mitch Trubisky has been playing better lately, although the Lions and Cowboys aren't exactly the greatest competition to judge one's performance against. We'll see how him and the Bears do against the Packers, Chiefs and Vikings.

    Do the derby.
    Unless you look really good in a pair of Levi's, the cowboy hat looks bizarre with polyester double knit dress slacks.

    Miss Smartie will pull out a Louisville Slugger from under the bar and throw me out if I talk politics. So all I can say about Cowboys vs Bears is that a few years ago, when ... um ... some players started doing a certain thing ... uh ... at a certain time ... before the game, I stopped watching or even following the NFL at all.

    Sorry, Miss Smartie. I'll shut the hell up now. :hiding:

    An Elderly couple was found dead, buried in snow this Friday
    outside Flagstaff.A couple driving down the road saw something
    strange off to the side of the road.Once they got closer and saw
    a body with bluejeans they knew it was human.The woman
    was on her back and the man was on top of her,covered in melting
    snow.The elderly couple were in their late 70's and apparently walked
    a short distance from their car during the cold snap and foot of snow
    around Thanksgiving.The body was not discovered earlier due to
    being covered in snow.
    I think it was probably an act of nobility for the older man to lay on
    top his partner in order to keep her chances of surviving at it's best.

    It's been a bit quiet since Mz. Smartie has been dealing with life things.

    You can not post on the open board, but skipping the Bar is just... not right! :D

    Who wants to help decorate the bar Christmas tree?

    The lights are all set. I checked them. They still have that peppermint smell from when the candy canes melted on them. Screw the LED stuff. We go large. We're the bar. I cant find the beer cap garland and something or someone ate the shellaced popcorn balls. So we need to make some more.

    Lucy's from Jersey.
    Just sayin'.

    A bar without a Christmas tree ain't right.

    Funny you played the "Charlie Brown Christmas Dance" because I always play this song when I set up our Christmas tree - it's part of the ritual:

    I wasn't been able to get into the Christmas spirit until last weekend, but puttin' up the tree, breaking out the Holiday music, lighting up the fireplace and brewing a couple of pots of Glühwein did the trick. All we need now is some snow...

    We put the lights on the house yesterday. Im getting upstairs ready for some decorations we want to put around tonight.

    We didnt put the tree up yet. We get a big fresh cut tree. I cut the bottom branches off to make cemetery boxes for our parents, grandparents and my sister. Whatever is left of the tree we bring in the house. Maybe this weekend we will do that.
    Once the decorations go up it starts feeling like Christmas time.

    What in tarnation is " Gluhwein ". I hope it ain't some version of what rummies
    drank in the 30's up to the 60's.
    A concoction of
    I gots it ... How about Jellied Eels { in both red and green Jello }
    with Burl Ives playing his Christmas favorite in the background
    - It's a Jolly Jolly Christmas - as a little child shakes the sterling silver
    serving tray the jellied Eels in Red & Green jello are ensconced.

    FB_IMG_1575063244987.jpg Not doing Christmas this yr. Kinda strange but me and dad agreed to skip it. I'm still fighting this auto immune sys upheaval with my 3rd hospital stay since July. Back home and loaded with doc appts, so not leveled off yet. No festivities in the forecast.

    Yall celebrate on, though! I'll live vicariously thru your :xmasrudolph::xmassanta:!

    Do as any respectable Scrooge would do.Instead a nice Goose
    for Christmas din-din have a nice mess of Jellied eels.
    Plus cold pudding afterwards.With boiled tea seeped in
    leftovers from the bare cupboard.Maybe including but not relegated
    to Snips and snails and puppy-dogs' tails.
    BTW ...what's a Snips.?
    A snooty Brit snit.

    I was wondering why the White House Christmas Tree { a *Fir }
    which went up the other day and they showed it being delievered
    on a very large trailer pulled by a horse drawn carriage had its
    bottom branches all brown.Obvioulsy they were dead browned branches.
    So the huge Fir was apparently cut down some time ago.

    * Douglas Fir from Pennsylvania pulled by Clydesdales { a pair of }
