Of course it's never the right thing to assault anyone. How could this have happened in liberal Washington state? Will this become a cause celebre?
According to posts made by my liberal friends in just the last few hours, this is merely a he said/she said, and without video tape the entire story is suspect and possibly attention driven.
Could be Can’t trust the press you know Oops! You seemed to have missed a word Charged As opposed to “under investigation”
I still fully support and supported Trump for a full ban on foreigners from middle east countries and other third world countries similar. They have a hard time adapting to our culture, heritage, and traditions. I feel we should revert back to the Nationalization Act of 1790. It would be a good direction of making America great again.
And right there, right there goes to tne heart of Uber operations world wide, including Down Here. There are no security measures whatsoever, so cameras, no voice recordings. When I retired many years ago, I bought what you call taxi medallions, (got rid of three) and now have just the one which I operate, but do not drive. It is mandatory here (Queensland) that we have both voice and video recordings of everything that happens in the Cab. There was a compulsory upgrade only just six weeks ago which cost me around $AU3,000.00. Ubers...nothing. Level playing field......nah. While I do not wish what happened to that bloke in WA on anybody, you get what you pay for, and in his case.....zero protection. Uber is a blight.
I’m actually seeing stories these days about how Uber drivers are raping and robing their passengers. I don’t think this is working out as planned.
I thought an Uber couldn't fly without a camera rolling. But I've never seen an Uber (that I know of), and really don't know.
I know a woman who tried it for a few weeks and she used her personal car, no camera, no recording devices.
That's the way Uber rumbles. Every Uber is a privately owned family car for primarily personal use. Uber is a rip off.
Hmm... I've had the chance to interact with a number of Sikhs. To a man they were reticent - quiet and unassuming. I would have to approach them, in order to talk to them. They were all very friendly and easy to talk to, after I made the first move. They all work hard and don't seem to have trouble following our laws. I think that they fit in just fine.
Uber has released statistics of assaults. They're below the national averages and go both ways. A driver is as likely to be a victim as a passenger. https://www.uber.com/us/en/about/reports/us-safety-report/
There is a lot of anti-uber propaganda for some reason. Taxi driving had always been a dangerous job. The most dangerous in the US. Uber is far safer for passengers and drivers because you know the identity of who is getting picked up and drivers have all their id on file. Like this *****, he can be prosecuted instantly. A cab picks up anonymous strangers and deals in cash. So what if there is a video camera? You think that helps more than your id and credit card information, which is what you need for an uber ride. Uber is way safer.
Sikhs are great. Most assaults on them are because people think they are Muslims. Its a tragic irony cause Sihks are the historical victims of muslim violence.
The immigration laws never should have been changed in 1965. Our culture has been diluted to the lowest common denominator.
I agree with your point, but could this story show that the term "liberal Washington State" is inaccurate and misleading? Labels can be useful sometimes, but they are notoriously inaccurate.
