Right -but, why did the Bush administration want to go into Iraq so badly that they were willing to make up a large number of lies - sacrifice the lives of our soldiers- and spend Trillions of dollars.

I feel we were there to obstruct ISIS, period. ISIS was terrorizing everyone in every place they invaded, Muslim & non-Muslim alike. The U.S. decided they were worth the effort in opposing--particularly after several innocent westerners were beheaded by ISIS. I'm sure the decision to send troops there was more complex than my post, but ISIS was worth fighting against, & I'm glad for our success there & for the Kurd's help in achieving it.

So Chaney could get rich? Because the morons though Iraq would embrace the invaders with open arms and all of the Middle East would become Democratic?

Too simplistic. Sure Cheney stood to gain but, there were a whole lot more people other than Tricky Dick Cheney that were involved.

If logic and facts are too simple for you perhaps you would care to provide your explanation for why we were in such a rush to go to war.

Now you are being obtuse. I did not say your information was not correct - or not part of the explanation - only that Cheney looking to profit is not the full explanation.

There were numerous people - other than Bush and Cheney - that were involved in the rush to war. These crimes were then brushed under the carpet.

Estimates of the spend on Iraq and Afghanistan are as high as 6 Trillion.

    .
Study: US has spent nearly $6T on war since 9/11
    https://thehill.com/policy/defense/416663-study-us-has-spent-nearly-6t-on-war-since-9-11

That kind of money makes a whole lot more people than Cheney rich.

Assad is in a war to the death with thousands of Al Qaeda savages that want to turn Syria into an Islamic state. Anyone who roots against Assad is rooting for Al Qaeda. So the question becomes: Why do you side with the mortal enemies of America?

Big deal, Al Capone or John Gotti—both are evil wretches. Best possible outcome? They destroy each other.

When your choice is arsenic or cyanid, best do a rethink—you’ve made an error, somewhere.

Al Qaeda is responsible for killing thousands of Americans. The US is in a declared war against Al Qaeda. Assad is fighting thousands of those savages in Syria. The only people who think Assad is as bad as Al Qaeda are those who swallow the lies of government and CNN. Funny, isn't it? How you pretend to be a libertarian while you parrot US government talking points on almost every foreign policy issue there is.

Are you in Syria yet? When you get there, just ask the local Al Qaeda commander if you can join his glorious rebellion against Syria's secular government. I'm sure they'd be happy to have you.

Sorry. You are way too pragmatic to have any idealistic or moral values.

Take a bite of the apple and read Ayn Rand.

Ayn Rand: “[The Pragmatists] declared that philosophy must be practical and that practicality consists of dispensing with all absolute principles and standards—that there is no such thing as objective reality or permanent truth—that truth is that which works, and its validity can be judged only by its consequences—that no facts can be known with certainty in advance, and anything may be tried by rule-of-thumb—that reality is not firm, but fluid and “indeterminate,” that there is no such thing as a distinction between an external world and a consciousness (between the perceived and the perceiver), there is only an undifferentiated package-deal labeled “experience,” and whatever one wishes to be true, is true, whatever one wishes to exist, does exist, provided it works or makes one feel better.”—http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/pragmatism.html

    Lied?
1 - Everybody believed Sadaam possessed WMD's, even the Russians.
2 - Iraq was reported as using WMD's against Kurds and Iranians, and I believe it.
3 - Sadaam's claim that he "tipped it out in the desert somewhere" wasn't credible to thinking people.

Assad is a moderating influence in the Middle East.
Sure, his psyche, like that of his father, is to see the Jews as enemies
But his state is, comparatively speaking, a moderate, tolerant and secular country.

You missed it. Exactly as the U.S. government wants, you believe that these wars have sprouted of their own momentum and that meeting them before they "spread". FALSE. NOT TRUE. FAKE. LIES.

Creating war, instigating war, and implementing war through make-believe aggression and black flag operations .... that is the Military-Industrial Complex m.o. You talk about "shutting down" the threat when it is Washington that is the threat. Concocted threat orchestrated with the single purpose of snatching your tax dollars for weaponry and war machinery to "shut it down". The Americans and their NATO lackeys are easily duped and your response is the proof of its' filthy and treacherous success.

Well, I see no reason to believe any of this. I don't buy into vast conspiracies orchestrated by thousands of officials at multiple levels just to steal some taxpayer funds. Such things might work in fiction, but they don't pass the smell test in real life and would be entirely unprecedented.

Expendable lives to his own profits.

Those "trillions of dollars" were your taxes, i.e. your money. Bush didn't spend of dime of his own money. He made multi-gazillions of dollars for himself.

The U.S backed ISIS. ISIS is America's proxy ... America's "black flag".

You forgot to tell him that Al Qaida isn't America's mortal enemy but rather Washington's proxy.
