Thanks for establishing that you are STILL wrong about me!

Do a search for the term "mea culpa" under my avatar and see how many times it turns up.

And yet they wonder why virtually no one still trusts the polls or the MSM.

I stand corrected. What people remember 20 years later is possibly more relevant than historical fact on every detail. Bottom line is that he was impeached for lying, and that ended up looking petty and highly-partisan at the time and still so twenty years later.

The problem is logic buffered by common sense. You know . . . what the Right is famous for having and what the collective Left tends to disdain in favor of feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings. Considering the average size of Trump rallies back in 2016 versus the pitiful venues in which Hillary talked -- most of the time being unable to fill postage stamp size spaces to capacity -- logic and common sense told us that those polls SHRIEKING for month after month that Hillary Clinton was a full fourteen polling points ahead of Trump were partisan political propaganda in support of the DNC's political agenda.

Because so many leftists remain butt-injured by Trump winning in 2016 they are going to continue BELIEVEING with their feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelings that this is a righteous impeachment and that this time the entire nation will agree with them that Trump is EVIL despite what both logic and common sense tells THINKING PEOPLE in regards to the results of the Mueller Investigation and the post investigation hysteria involving bogus Obstruction of Justice. But you cannot refute BELIEF and Feeeeeeelings with mere logic and common sense. Meh . . . so it goes.

There will always be a portion of the country who wants the government to do everything to solve their life's problems...the wishful thinking lies in the most down-trodden members of their base. Democrats are just pandering to the public requests for the government to save them from themselves. First they catered to the white working class, then before actually helping them, dumped white working folks during the LBJ administration to focus on the black community. Now many blacks feel left in the dirt because Dems have shifted to migrants and blacks are still the worst off economically after decades of emotion-based promises without action. Seems like tribalism and pandering to groups and special interests based on race, sex and preferences isn't a great strategy overall, but as long a portion of voters demands big government, the Democrats will be there for them.

44% support impeachment, and most of them are in NY or CA.

So about 10% to 15% of the people outside of NY and CA support impeachment.

Sorry, Trump is not the best president in our lifetime. Anyone who believes this, you must have really low standards for what makes a great president.

Aww... another intelligent, eloquent, enlightened Liberal makes fun of my ability to express myself! Little does he know that English is not my first, not even my second language!

My friend, I can fluently cuss and make fun of you in a dozen languages. Can you?

    I seriously doubt it.

Let me guess - be able to read Teleprompter, smartly raise chin while looking from left to right, travel to all corners of our 57 states, be clean-shaven, articulate and mainstream. And wear tan suit now and the.

    Does it cover it? :D

I am too young to know if Trump is the best president but for sure he's exposing the corruption in the democratic party.

    We'll see.

I think the Democrats ARE doing what their constituents want...which is to get Trump out of the Oval Office, because of his conduct.

It certainly is what I want.

Glad my Representative is doing it.

Looks like all the "fluidity" in the tiny changes in numbers lies with changes of heart from Independents: "The slight upward tick in those supporting impeachment comes as a result of a new high in independent voters, 45 percent, who favor impeachment, up from 38 percent in October."

Partisan voters appear to have made their minds up: "Given the 3 percentage point margin of error, the share of Americans who want to see Trump impeached or removed from office has not changed since the beginning of the impeachment inquiry earlier this fall."

Democrats have televised their partisan "formal" impeachment show for months and the House is about finished. Doesn't seem like they have been terribly influential after all that time and energy, but that's what happens when impeachment is run on purely political motivations.

    Yep.
I think the Dems are looking at the 70% that think Trump did something wrong.
That's what they are forcing the Pubs to deny.

Dems aren't forcing anything. They are trying to sway opinion to their point of view, and they're failing with all but the flexible Independents. If Independents are impressionable enough to have their opinion swinging widely over a short period of time, just wait 'til the trial goes to the Senate. :)

    From the same poll:

Democrats (85 percent) favor (impeaching/removing Trump)
Republicans (84 percent) are opposed (impeaching/removing Trump)
45 percent of independents favor impeachment, up from 38

Overall, no movement within margin of error, after another month of testimonies and House debates:

Trump's job approval ratings holding steady or improving:

Voters think that Pelosi is better than Trump at "Gamesmanship" (playing political games):

No. The Dems are under no illusion they will win the Senate trial. They are motivated by two things:
1- What Trump did was wrong and impeachment is the only remedy.
2- The Republican Senators will have to vote against what they and the people know is wrong.
