“As a private citizen, Donald Trump saw that Americans were treated unfairly by NAFTA,” the White House wrote on Twitter. “He ran for office and won on a promise to fix it. Promises made, promises kept.”

On Tuesday, Trump noted he spoke with President of the AFL–CIO Richard Trumka and Teamsters President James Hoffa about the deal. “We had some very good talks and everybody is really loving the USMCA,” Trump said. “So we’re very happy about that. Very, very happy.”

Kudo's to Trump for keeping his promise to replace NAFTA, which had a disastrous impact on American jobs and prosperity.

He's been speaking about doing this for years.

And now its being done from a position of strength.

Name the major improvements for American workers that the USMCA has over NAFTA?????The only major change I am aware of guarantees Mexican autoworkers better pay.

Trump just might be the best president we’ve ever had.

Its very cool to see it in action.

I have watched video clips of Trump going back to the early 80's where he talks about trade deals with Japan, China, currency manipulation, etc.

Also, the strength of our economy changes the trade equation with China-which is huge.

I don't remember one better in my time! I'm way happy with the opportunity that the country is experiencing ATM, it was pretty bleak under Mr. Obatard and what was worse is he actually tried to convince the nation that his economy was the new norm! Talk about a defeatist looser! Hell he was the worst motivator I have ever had the displeasure of knowing.. He was simply the worst leader that we ever had..

And we have people in this country who would ignore what Trump is doing even though he’s helping everyone because they don’t like his Tweets. Talk about shallow.

In terms of Crapping on the Constitution, Denigrating the Dignity of the Office and Turning the USA into a Worldwide Laughingstock?

    You may have a point.

    As far as "Replacing Nafta"?

    Good for him.

Even a Stopped Clock occasionally gets it right.:salute:

It's that leftist defeatist attitude that Mr. Obatard planted in them.. They think mediocre is winning and I'm at a loss on how they will ever overcome that defect.. sad really, if the entire country would just embrace economics and opportunity tremendous things could be accomplished..

    Good question!

    From WaPo:

    ...
Here’s a rundown of what we know is in the “new NAFTA” so far.

New name. Goodbye, NAFTA. The new deal will be known as the USMCA. Trump, who cares deeply about branding, wanted a new name since he campaigned on ripping up NAFTA. He suggested “USMC,” in honor of the U.S. Marine Corps, but in the end, USMCA won out.

Big changes for cars. The goal of the new deal is to have more cars and truck parts made in North America. Soon, to qualify for zero tariffs, a car or truck must have 75 percent of its components manufactured in Canada, Mexico or the United States, a substantial boost from the current 62.5 percent requirement.

    Meh.

Canada’s victory: Chapter 19, allowing for a special dispute process, stays intact. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said repeatedly that he wanted to keep NAFTA Chapter 19 in place, and that’s exactly what happened. The United States pushed hard to eliminate it, but in the end, it stayed.

Chapter 19 allows Canada, Mexico and the United States to challenge one another’s anti-dumping and countervailing duties in front of a panel of representatives from each country. This is generally a much easier process than trying to challenge a trade practice in a U.S. court. Over the years, Canada has successfully used Chapter 19 to challenge the United States on its softwood lumber restrictions.

    So much yawning.

Trump is reshaping U.S. trade policy, but not at the scale he long promised

    ...
Reaching agreements to reshape almost half of the country’s $4 trillion-plus goods trade would be a big political win for the president as he confronts a House impeachment inquiry.

But the two “America First” trade deals will provide only limited overall gains for the economy, according to independent studies, economists and executives. In particular, there is little chance that large numbers of outsourced factory jobs will return to the United States, as the president promised.

“What we’ve learned from the Trump trade revolution is that it’s much easier to hurt Chinese manufacturing than it is to help American manufacturing,” said economist Brad Setser of the Council on Foreign Relations. “In terms of bringing jobs back, you’re not going to see much success.”

Defeatist bullshit, he was poisonous to this country.. But many believe that was his goal to put the country on a downward spiral.. And I didn't believe it but now after seeing what the democrat party has morphed in to, I say mission accomplished Mr Obatard!
