That's just stupid. If you believed in global warming then you would want giant tariffs on the Chinese Democrats till they cleaned up their act.
Your dodge isn't going to work. Try addressing the post you quoted instead of desperately scrambling to aim the conversation elsewhere. At least try to join the discussion if you are going to pretend to be interested in it.
I make no assumptions. I strongly oppose tariffs, but make an exception in China's case. As far as Trumps authority to impose tariffs, I would gladly give up on my position in exchange for a drastic reduction in government power.
Trump's tariffs go far beyond China. And supporting Trump's tariffs is an extraordinary expansion of government power.
So keep praising government overreach or argue against it. Just make up your mind. I've made up mine.
Relax, its just a discussion. I realize my position is not common and I appreciate that people are talking about defending the constitution and opposing government overreach. Lets start from the beginning: Why is China manufacturing our products in the first place?
They aren't manufacturing all of our products. When they are, there's this thing called comparative advantage. It works in our favor when they produce products that we buy.
Tariffs aren't unconstitutional, or unusual. It's not the best way of coercing market influence because of the double-edged sword(IE: China raising tariffs in response to our own tariffs.). In reality, what Trump really wants to do is a trade embargo. If China's violating our markets, we cut them off from our market but we don't have to weaken the US buyer. The Chinese wouldn't raise tariffs in response to a pure embargo. More likely, they would counter with an embargo of their own. In the future, the US will have to industrialize more and focus on building its own metal production, to limit the necessity of the Chinese. We should have our own counterpart to 5G. Do that, and we'll have real leverage and pull with the Chinese.
There doesn't seem to be a significant change in the trend between the two presidencies. If you can't think of any influences to the economy beyond a superstitious worship of the Almighty Executive, that's on you.
Jesus. Trump is the worst President ever Just getting ahead of the PF leftist, it's donation time so I thought I'd spur worthy controversy! I'd have gone with Race, but there wasn't a clear path to it ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯
I feel ya brother.. Pretty damn depressing having this sort of news surfacing so frequently! Sux to be a hardcore leftist nowadays and making things look bad and claiming it has nothing to do with the sitting Prez.. Almost like playing poker and all the cards you are allowed to have is ONE ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯
All it takes is that ability to read a graph to understand Trump isn't responsible. But I can see where that would be too much for some.
Just like most democrats are trying to figure out which gubmint agency they need to go to to apply for some o’ dat 401 (kayz) monies.
Markets are 100% speculative. When investors and traders feel confident, they buy on the assumption of rising value dependent on a stronger economy. The left HATES to admit that the confidence riding this bull is because of Trump.
Do they all wear slips now? Not that anything is wrong with that, but it does explain a lot!! ¯\_(º¸º)_/¯
