The documentarian claimed that Trump would win “if the election were held today,” before noting that the electoral college system is the chief issue for Democrats: “Hillary won by 3 million popular votes. I believe whoever the Democrat is next year is going to win by 4 to 5 million popular votes. There’s no question in my mind that people who stayed home, who sat on the bench, they’re going to pour out … there’s going to be a much higher percentage of people voting against him.”

“If the vote were today, I believe, he would win the electoral states that he would need, because, living out there, I will tell you, his level of support has not gone down one inch,” Moore continued. “In fact, I’d say it’s even more rabid than it was before, because they’re afraid now. They’re afraid he could lose, because they watched his behavior. So they are voracious in their appetite for Donald Trump. That’s the bad news.”

Michael Moore may be a leftist, but he was one of the few who warned that Trump could win in 2016.

Here, he suggests that women, people of color, and young voters are not going to support a centrist candidate. Likely Biden and Warren are who he was referring to.

There is currently a schism within the DNC, over which path to take going forward.

    Could Moore be right? Sure... it's always a coin-toss -- 50/50.

My 2-cents? Democrats definitely CAN win the next presidential election, IF they nominate candidate(s) that reflect the aspirations, goals, and beliefs of what I refer to as "rational middle-class" voters. Workers, achievers, decent responsible people with logical, common-sense orientation in their lives. They love this country, they love what they've been able to achieve with dedication, education, and hard work, and, they love what their futures look like as they continue onward toward their achievement of their goals!

These are people that the Democrat Party USED to appeal to, until they went completely fugging crazy with all the 'politically-correct', 'racially-correct', hyperliberal 'woke' horseshit that promotes everything from 'socialism-lite', to welfare for illegal aliens, to 'reparations', to 'guaranteed annual incomes', etc. The 'rational middle-class' are the people that MATTER!

Are there any Democrat candidates that appeal to people like that? Maybe... but we they haven't really emerged... yet. Michael Bloomberg and Andrew Yang could be candidates like that, if they'd forget about the radical, senseless, loonie-tunes bullshit and concentrate on what's IMPORTANT.

I agree with you that that would be the Dems only strategy to win the WH. It would certainly peel off enough of Trump's base, probably a major amount of them who were turned off by Hilla.

Big problem for the Dems is that they turned away from those voters and veered towards the AOC brand. Also, I'm not at all sure Bloomberg would appeal to those rational middle-class voters. Yang stands a chance, and Amy - maybe an outside chance. If Biden could keep his foot out of his mouth for half a minute - well, that ain't gonna happen. Pretty much every one in the Dem Clown Car would need to do some serious rebranding and fast to pull that off.

Of the remaining democrats in the race Warren is the most detestable. She’s a multi millionaire who seems to get her clothes from Walmart’s 50% discount aisle.

At this point, Michael Moore is nothing more that a bloated idiot.

I could not care less about his opinion.

That said, good for him if is happy being adopted as a Pro-Trump shill.

As far as the 2020 nominee...

    Just WIN, Baby...

I don't care who they nominate, as long as they win.

Even a potted planted with a (D) next to their name would be a vast improvement over a Treasonous, Clueless, America-Hating, IMBECILE (like Trump).:salute:

AJ, if you think Biden is the ticket to the white house, you haven't been paying attention.

Biden: I was wrong to say 'Shylocks'

“People would come up to him and talk about what was happening to them at home in terms of foreclosures, in terms of bad loans that were being — I mean, these Shylocks who took advantage of these women and men while overseas,” Biden said.

While Biden was referring to bank representatives and moneylenders haggling with people serving the United States overseas, the term originally comes from William Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.” In the play, Shylock is a Jewish moneylender, and use of the name to refer to greed has been called offensive by organizations such as the ADL, among others.

I think there is enough Trump hate that the far left will vote for a moderate, too bad the dems aren't running any moderates.

Trump is moderate in most areas.

I wish he was a conservative.

Whoa. Well, we definitely have an anti-Semetic slur there.

Sure, it was five years ago, but as several of our LW posters will agree with, a quote from fourteen-ish years ago from Trump is certainly fair game so one from five years ago is A-OK.

Jew-Fighten' Biden? Hmm - does have a ring to it.

    No kidding.

Biden is toast, for sure (this time).

If Trump runs against Biden (and giving the disproportionate weight that this unconscionable use of the word "Shylock" will carry), I am sure that Trump will get 99+% of the Jewish Vote.

And, given Trump's own Prediction of 95% of Black vote (in 2020), Trump is a mortal lock For a 50-State sweep and 95% in DC.

    Wow.

    "Shylock"...

Hmm - which logical fallacy did you use this time? Ah - you went for the Appeal to Extremes.

Well, as Biden would say: "Damn the Shylocks, full speed ahead!" :salute:

So your defense of Bidens antisemitism is that he didn't understand what he was saying?

That bolsters your argument how, exactly?

Thank you for establishing that you have no idea what constitutes a "centrist candidate" because there is no doubt that Biden is one while Warren is NOT!

I will say that Klobuchar, and Warren are trying to stake out that territory.

To the left of Biden, who is the most centrist, but not as far "out there" as a Bernie or Bootygig.

I don't see Warren moving her wigwam over far enough to be considered a centrist; I don't even see her trying to do so.
