Ok but what the Democrats are doing is completely legal. A coup would be a violent takeover.

IIRC there are no statutes addressing impeachment. Only the Constitution talks about impeachment and what the Dems are doing is unconstitutional.

This impeachment deserves ************************** because the corrupt and criminal Republicans have announced the verdict before hearing one witness or seeing any evidence. Partisan hackery at it's purest.

There was absolutely nothing mediocre about Obama's term. He was the worst hands down. He set the bar so low even Carter cannot get under it.

well, facts and economic data show he was mediocre, and nowhere near the worst. He's not even the worst in this century. But hey, don't let reality get in the way of your ideology.

The Constitution says high crimes and misdemeanors are the bar. The notes and commentary from the convention make it clear that means egregious wrong doings against the government or the people of the US. It is also clear that the founders' biggest concern -- which they just did not know how to fence in -- was a congress carrying out impeachment for political gain. This is what the House is currently doing. They have no crimes of any level let alone high crimes and misdemeanors, which BTW does not have the same meaning of today's misdemeanors. They have no wrong doing let alone anything approaching egregious against the people. (And, BTW, IMO neither did the other three impeachment activities with the possible exception of Clinton. At least Clinton had some well-known crime; whether they were egregious I'm not certain.) Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler have NOTHING within a million miles approaching impeachable. They have been in a mad scramble for three years incessantly searching desperately for something that maybe might (they hope and dream and pray) stick. This is what the framers were most anxious and concerned about. A successful impeachment for political gain of one faction (what parties were called back then) spells the end of our constitutional republic.

A complaint like that following the most bizarre excuse for integrity and due process by any congress in history....

I think we need to submit that claim to some actual scientific testing.

Actually, there really isn't any specific high crime or misdemeanor that the president can be impeached for.

Here is new astounding evidence against Trump. Trump's fans should keep in mind;m it is members of Congress who will have the final word. It will be the American people. Republicans should keep that in mind. They have already lost key elections in 2018 and 2019 because of Trump.

    • As early as June, acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney worked to execute the freeze for Trump, and a top aide to Mulvaney — Robert Blair — worried it would fuel the narrative that Trump was tacitly aiding Russia.
    • Internal opposition was more forceful than previously known. The Pentagon pushed for the money for months. Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and then-national security adviser John Bolton privately urged Trump to understand that freezing the aid was not in our national interest.
    • Trump was unmoved, citing Ukraine’s “corruption.” We now know Trump actually wanted Ukraine to announce sham investigations absolving Russia of 2016 electoral sabotage and smearing potential 2020 opponent Joe Biden. The Times report reveals that top Trump officials did not think that ostensibly combating Ukrainian “corruption” (which wasn’t even Trump’s real aim) was in our interests.
    • Lawyers at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) worked to develop a far-fetched legal argument that Trump could exercise commander-in-chief authority to override Congress’ appropriation of the aid, to get around the law precluding Trump from freezing it.
    • Michael Duffey, a political appointee at OMB, tried to get the Pentagon to assume responsibility for getting the aid released, to deflect blame away from the White House for its own role in blocking it. This led a Pentagon official to pronounce herself “speechless.”
    • Duffey froze the aid with highly unusual bureaucratic tactics, refused to tell Pentagon officials why Trump wanted it withheld and instructed them to keep this “closely held.” (Some of this had already been reported, but in narrative context it becomes far more damning.)

Defense Secretary Mark Esper has been in office for five months. For seven months Trump didn't have a permanent SecDef. Mattis quit in December 2018 over Trump's surrender order in Syria.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo intends to make a Senate run in his home state of Kansas. Of course, he recently said, it's "not something that I want to do." Which, of course, means he will. Pompeo never, ever, commits himself prematurely.

National security adviser John Bolton was fired because of Trump's second surrender order in Syria and because he called Trump's scheme in Ukraine a drug deal.

McConnell has no intention of calling these people with direct knowledge as witnesses. Why? They will be sworn to tell the truth.

The simple fact remains. Democrats are attempting to impeach President Trump because he exposed the criminal activity of both Bidens!!!!!!

Thats how every single trial in the US works. What relevant witnesses did they refuse to hear?

Are you kidding? There is no trial conducted in the US where the defense cannot call a witness unless the prosecution approves. Even worse are committee hearings not trying anything but just looking for information. The whistle blower is one example of many witness requests by the Republicans denied by Schiff and Nadler.

We have no problem whatsoever with the people deciding Trump's or anyone else's fate in a fair and free election. It is the Democrats who went ballistic with the people's choice in 2016 and have gone hysterical ever since to undo it.

Impeachment isn’t a trial, removal is.

So, in your mind he's guilty and needs to prove his innocence? LMFAO!

This is not China or North Korea.

There's nothing wrong with accepting dirt if someone is freely offering it.
