When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought to myself, 'that may or may not be true.'

With the devaluing of academic credentials and the prevalence of the misuse of authority, I have become much less trusting of what is marketed as "news" by the acaDemedia complex. In fact, my first reaction to such headlines are: 'Why does someone want me to believe that?' and, if it is accurate, 'Why does someone want me to know that?'.

 

I don't think the divorce rate has much to do with it. The economy would have an effect, considering it's not the easiest thing to manage now, raising children. Got to have a good income established and a good home to bring them up in. Then there's the sheer in convenience of it all relative to having fun with all of those new technologies you've mentioned. Certainly we're busier and more distracted than ever. We aren't forced to mature and endure hardship the way our ancestors did or the way modern people in the developing world often are. I don't know about the population density making a difference; it doesn't seem to slow the third world down at all.

 

Birth control also "kills the unborn." Take it easy.

A. no one is "pro-abortion". There ARE, though, decent people who believe women have a right to choose what to do with their bodies.

B. "Choice" means exactly that, it does not mean having only one choice (since that's an oxymoron)

C. The only thing you got correct is the ridiculously obvious, abortion kills the unborn....that's the purpose.
