Maybe they would be fit to eat if corralled and fed corn for a few months. Even then it might make you go vegan.

A razor back is a feral hog, I think.

The Movie got better halfway thru but not nearly enough.
    It's a weak almost incoherent storyline.Scenes don't match with
reality or credibility.Travolta probably wished he never acted in it.
It won't appeal to Baby Boomers. But may with GenXers and Millennials.
Which isn't saying much. The movie ended up w/o really providing any
answers for the lead { Travolta }.His character isn't improved or learned
    form his lessons.Which proves why it's a Lousy movie.It ends w/o
resolving anything. However Hollywood movies once upon a time
were made to end with a song and a kiss.Or riding off into the sunset.
This flick ended flat.No resolution of any kind.
    - Unlike - The Apartment - { 1960 } which had a wonderful ending.
The ending was in fact,a learning process for the main characters
that progressed, step by step as if a grand Orchestral performance.
It was a 5 star restaurant dinner as opposed to - The Fanatic - which was
at best a hot dog bought at a gas station with some cola in a syrofoam cup.

Not to be confused with a ZZ Top or unshaven males acting like
wild pigs on stage who manage to show off their recent Arthur Murray
dance lessons.Meaning a version of Pre-Elvis shaking back and forth
    instead of ones hips.
I may be on to something here.I knowed of those who went to a
ZZ Top concert and the very next day acting no more polite at the
dinner table than yer average Blueboy Boar round suppertime.

I have eaten wild boar prepared by skilled chefs. It was very good. That does not mean that it would taste good if I decided to throw one in the oven.

I've been told that it's legal to hunt them with a lance on horseback in Tennessee. That sounds interesting

What you do is test the fat for boar taint. Just scourch some of the fat with a hot iron or something and smell. It would be a good idea to check the female fat the same way. Boar taint is present in 10% or so in non castrated males. Sows get something similar sometimes.

Sounds like good sport, but feral hogs can cripple a horse.
They should have a bounty on them everywhere.

I will check to see if there are any butchers that sell the things. The chefs must have a source.

But a hog that has been raised on acorns and such has got to taste good. The best hog we ever ate was raised at home on acorns , corn, and leftover produce from the local produce market. The best ribs ever!!

The Best hog ever ete are ones used for Great Country Hams.
Like a Honey Baked Ham.Nuthin' tops a ham sandwich when made from
the best Ham on the market.Krogers has Boar's Head Deli cold cuts.
That's their top end. They also carry Private Selection at half the price.
The Truck that delievers Boar's Head is marked with Bear's Head
logos and I'm told is not permitted to get dirty.
Their Deli meats are as healthy as Deli meats gets. Not Perfect
but then seldom is anything in the food industry perfect.

It has been said that acorns also make pigs grow faster and I tend to agree. Bruno was 351lbs dressed and every bit was good. But I haven't had the heart to raise any more pigs. I kinds liked Bruno. My wife hated him. Seen Boars head. The sell the stuff a Publix. Neat lookin logo.

For some reason I can't get the scenes of those Giant Sicilian
Boars from - Hannibal - { 2001 } truly one of the best Horror Movies
of it's genre ever.Like - The Shining - it was terribly received and never
    received correct kudos until later.Yet each year,like - The Shining - { 1980 }
it becomes more of a classic.Because they are Great examples of Moviemaking.
Beautifully shot { cinematography } bordering on claustrophobic with
great detail and lighting.Storylines that are amazingly unique with the right
combination of creeps and thrills.I was a Big fan of both movies right from
the first time I saw each.
Yet those massive Italian Boars { I'll watch to see the little place in Italy
they were bred. It's some little out of the way farm } were a show stopper.
    Then you got Blue Boy from the 3rd version of - State Fair - { 1965 }
which is my favorite.Because it has Tom Ewell who had a funny way of
making acting portrayals more interesting.Meaning he possessed uniqueness.
One thing I can't tolerate is Acting wannabees. Those who try to act like
another great actor. There were too many bleached blondes from the
50's who all thought they were the latest incarnation of a Marilyn Monroe.
This extended into the 60's.Acting is craft like making fine wine or furniture.
Racing a car or being a chef.
Why posting can't be thought of as a craft is beyond me.Writing certainly
qualifies.Crafting unique and meaningful words together has been a staple
of writing since the Old Testament.

I am tempted to git me some dat Bacon.Krogers has really good thick
sliced Bacon that is cured. But Bacon is mostly Fat and Fat clogs arteries.
It is important to have some some fat in a diet.I bought some Parma
prosciutto a couple times. In the packaged container. It's razor thin and
    very expensive.I think a 6 oz. package runs $ 9.99.
I have to trim off the really nice white layer of fat, however.
because it doesn't go down well.It kinda sticks even slightly
pan fried.I just as soon get the best Mortadella I can find.
Verona is available at Krogers. It doesn't move { sell } well.
I just got some sliced Boars head Pesto Parmesan ham on Saturday.
I should last a week. One slice of that and a slice of Mortadella
make a really good sandwich.I also have as breakfast one egg
fried with cheese on top and then a slice of toasted bread with
a piece of fried ham or ham and Mortadella added on the
toasted bread.I grew up on Good cold cuts and fresh baked rye bread.
My old man found a German butcher shop just 5 minutes from his
place of work on Cleveland's West side.It was right across the street from
a Bakery shop. The butcher brought his weiner making machine from
Europe. The Butches shop was Called Franzels.
Real, homemade wieners.Plus great salami and also Prasky.
Praski is strong with garlic however. So be careful when using the
toilet the next morning. The smell is pretty heady. The price one pays for
    great cold cuts.

$3500 reward! Time to set some traps.

"Landowners may use the following methods:
    1. Any weapon and ammunition legal for taking big game and small game during daylight hours only.
    2. Live traps with bait. Bait may not be used during big game hunting seasons without an exemption from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. All targeted animals must be dispatched before removal from trap.
    3. Additional methods may be authorized by obtaining an exemption from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. These exemptions may include:
      • The use of dogs as part of the experimental eradication program in Overton, Fentress, Cumberland, and Pickett counties. Dogs may not be used during November or December.
      • Shooting at night with the aid of artificial light, shooting over bait during big game season, or any other methods as approved by TWRA.
    4. This Proclamation acknowledges the significant importance of Tennessee’s agricultural industry to the State’s economy and well-being. It is further acknowledged that wild, or wild appearing, hogs have a growing detrimental impact to this industry. In consideration of this, and noting in particular the challenges faced in dispatching wild hogs throughout a crop’s growing season, the Executive Director may authorize the use of alternative manner and means of dispatching wild hogs by Agency personnel and/or their representative to protect agricultural property from such impacts.
Licensed Big Game Hunters may use the following means:
    1. Individuals licensed to hunt bears may take wild hogs during any proclaimed bear-dog hunt."
