Namely Persepolis and other UNESCO world heritage sites. Thats the level of ISIS and the taliban. In any case that's not really here nor there.

I hate wars and frankly I think we should just pull ALL of our troops home regardless of where they are at. Of course that doesn't mean that we shouldn't defend our allies. I just believe that we can do so without once setting a single boot on the ground.

That said, there is no such thing as a "war crime" in real war. In a real war you do what it takes to win because the enemy will do the same. Only thing I would avoid using are nukes and bio weapons, and that's because they have world wide effects, not out of any sense of morality.

You see, war is by nature immoral. The more you try to make it moral the more it restricts what must be done to end the conflict asap. Which means it drags out longer. Which means more suffer needlessly. Get it done and over with. Once the war is done then you can be moral. Help rebuild, provide doctors etc etc. Much like we did with Japan. Now look at them, one of the better countries out there imo.
