Does the State Department conduct the business of the federal government there under the Sec'y of State?

 

If a country goes to war but their political leaders say they can't use any and all means and every weapon they got, then they never should have gotten into that war in the first place.

Of course you carpet bomb civilians, break all their stuff, starve them, torture them for information, and salt their land. I'm from the deep South and I adore Sherman for being one of the best generals who ever lived.

yes, but you still have to realize it is a military encampment of a foreign power. Embassies in the traditional sense have been just guarded by marines. these marines were and are never used in attacks on that host country as this one is.

If you mean 'attacks' by the United States, I would say blithely, "...as many as it takes...." If we hit their main munitions and supply depots, and their command-and-control centers hard, then the rest will fairly easy. Most of the stuff in the Iranian Air Force is already 30 - 40 years old....

I don't know. I am honest enough to acknowledge that I don't know. I also am smart enough to know that an offensive to occupy another nation would never consist of just 3000 troops. There aren't very many people that are dumb enough to actually believe an idiotic notion as foolish as that.

They won't even put up any planes which we would knock out of the sky with minimal effort. Their navy could be dispensed with rather quickly. As you said, CnC we probably already have mapped out and anything mobile will be targeted as soon as it lights up and with that even mobile missile launchers are useless. The left and MSM are trying to hype the "WAR" thing as if Trump is going to invade Iran. If it goes further it'll be a matter of making them totally impotent knock out the Mullah's and military and then support the moderates and reformers Obama refused to help and support.

Massive air strikes and over whelming force did not work in Vietnam because the Vietcong fought a guerilla war style campaign . They Would Hit and move on several different targets at once to keep the might of the U.s military unfocused and scattered. Which worked for the most part.. General Westmoreland's strategy whike keading American forces was to seek and destroy. He thought if they killed enough Vietcong that the North Vietnamese could no longer wage war or want to. Which wasn’t true at all.

Iran has the same air defense systems Russia and China currently use. Which are mobile as well.Iran has somewhere between between twenty and thirty thousand speed boats armed with cruise missiles strategically placed all around the persian gulf.

I don't think anyone with an ounce of sense thinks an invasion of Iran is likely.

Iran's not going to fight us like Germany or Japan did. Any war will be very asymmetric. Those wars are very hard on we civilians but we're all happy to die so that Trump can feel tough, right?
