Blaming the gun is stupid. Blaming the easy access to guns is not.

Would you feel better if the headline read:

Kids, ages 12 and 13, run over by driver after throwing snowballs at passing cars

It’s not the gun, it’s not the car, it’s not the Republican Party. It’s the person.

Give the kids' father five minutes alone with the shooter.

It was probably a cop, in which case you'd be fine with it. Someone has to be willing to collect the taxes and enforce your nanny and busybody laws since you are far too feeble to do that yourself.

Not until you outlaw the manufacture and private sale of snowballs and insulated gloves that enable the high capacity manufacturing of snowballs.

It is anecdotal but it does go to show you that every gun own is a potential psychopath.

Lock up the driver. Its likely those kids were throwing more than snowballs, but unless they were throwing grenades, shooting them is not the action of a mentally healthy adult.

And btw- the driver wasn't me. So, not an excuse to restrict my rights.

The kid's shouldn't have thrown the snowballs, but it's time old tradition and unless said snowballs clouded his field of vision while driving, he really had no right to take what any prosecutor would describe as excessive and unnecessary response. It'll be charged as assault, battery and discharging of a deadly weapon.

Unfortunately mental health is not a prerequisite to gun ownership. Conservatives wouldn't like that.

No, it isn't, not without due process anyway. A diagnosis is not due process. We could make the system work that way, but that would require an honest desire to protect people's rights from bias and malpractice.

I for one, based on this two paragraph explanation, have no problem with this guy getting 25 to life.

I have some room to budge in circumstances where a citizen has erroneously shot someone while honestly believing them to be a threat... but not that much. That's the sort of thing that should be taken into account at sentencing and in selection of charges.

Would it make you feel any better if he has run a bunch of them over with the car?

You want to force parents to abuse their children? You believe abusing the children will make them act better?

again supporting the killing of children. The fact that you write this on an open forum suggests the sort of thinking which has become acceptable in the United States.

You do not believe that adults have a responsibility towards care of children and that your country has now degraded so much that if someone is angry with a child's bad behaviour they just shoot them. I am not denying their behaviour was inappropriate but the fact that some Americans here see the only option for dealing with inappropriate behaviour from children is to shoot them suggests you are not a safe country for anyone.

From what I can find on line (very little) the media has not reported anything about the subject so we can assume he was black and from eye witness accounts I am assuming they were also black so going one step further probably not the best neighborhood. All that said if your are in the bad part of town you will run into so unsavoury people don't throw snowballs. We have 300 million people and a very large country with so areas of the city that yes are not very safe don't go there. Nothing good happens in certain areas of cities don't go to Chicago's south side and places like that. And yes I do believe adults have some responsibilities towards children especially parents, and they should be teaching them how to behave in society.

Nobody ever uses a car as a weapon? A knife? A sling shot?

Blaming the tool used for violence rather than the person is ridiculously backwards.

It was inner city shooting. The shooter is most likely a gang-banging convicted felon who is already barred from owning a gun. Good luck finding him, our inner city culture is strictly "snitches get stitches". Most inner cities murders go unsolved because of it.

Of course given the laughable sentencing we have here in Milwaukee, I wouldn't expect the guy to spend a day in jail even if convicted.

For example, Cashmeir Armstrong got four years in prison for a triple shooting.... only in Milwaukee. In a sane world, this would be a life sentence. Expect some people to die in 5 years or so when this predator is unleashed back on his community.

One event, and everybody is guilty? Concealed or open carry has nothing to do with it, it is the moron who fired the gun that has broken laws and endangered people.

The idiot who shot at the kids should be arrested, charged, and put in jail. Just like what happens when people break other laws, they are punished. If people don't break the law, they should not be punished.

And you would know this because.....?

Answer is, you don't. You have a beef with guns, that's fine, but you've hung yourself up as a verbal target with this post.
