A citizen or citizens can write to Congress asking for expulsion. If enough do this, it will be taken seriously. However, two thirds of the House would have to agree that a member committed an egregious violation. Best to get control of the House first. The worst actors from the Dem side will likely be there. Then, proceedings may be started with many letters. That's how Trump was done. Some call it impeachment, but it is expulsion because impeachment has no teeth unless the Senate agrees with the articles and finds the president guilty. It's very possible to be done, but you'll have to get signatures and have folks calling their reps every day complaining.

Yeah. They did. Ask Scott Peterson how a trial without direct evidence can go.....

Considering that Bias is baked into the political system, it's either accept that it exists, and do everything possible to identify and separate it from the facts, or give up on politics altogether.

I've made my choice, what about you?
Well if you have a better one, I'm all ears. But so far, all I've heard you say is what's wrong.

Sondland witnessed Trump telling him directly that he did not want qpq and only wanted Ukraine to do the right thing.

All the rest of the testimony is based on hearsay and assumption

The house had -direct- evidence of the wrongdoing they Impeached trump for?
    Cite?
The Democrats, because of their bias, aren't interested in separating facts from same, so why should the Republicans?
I do not need to offer a 'better' analogy to demonstrate that yours in invalid.

    WRONG.

The Senate has concluded that members of Congress (Representatives and Senators) are not "civil officers" for purposes of impeachment

Anyway, back to the Actual OP Topic, it will be interesting to see how this Senate Gambit plays out.

Of a crime. No crime here. Just the dem clown show narrative. An alleged crime the victim wasn’t aware of.

Where the Democrats, with a gain of just 40 seats and a LOSS of a Senate seat, had the least impressive 1st midterm swing since 1992?

Sorry. Missed the word "direct". They had a mountain of indirect evidence, which, if enough to convict in a court of law, is more then enough to use in (as you put it) a political process.

You can have a bias and still deal in the facts. The Dems have the facts in this case, so, as their bias lines up with the factual reality of the situation, then their actions are driven by the facts.

As the Reps are outside the reality of this, their bias becomes the driving force for their actions.

You do if there is no other basis from which to derive some semblance of how this process works. Otherwise you will be dismissed and ignored.

McConnell just announced that the Senate has 51 votes necessary to approve the same trial rules which were used for the Clinton impeachment trial. Phase I goes forward with only prosecution and defense - no additional witnesses. Phase II allows debate and voting on whether to call additional witnesses.

Lol just because you don't want to consider his actions as a crime doesn't make it so. You can call it a narrative a thousand times (and from your posts, I figure your closing in on that), but it doesn't make it true.

Thank you again for confirming the house had no direct evidence of the accusations they made.
... but, as you admit, no direct evidence. Thus, they act on their bias.
The GOP, seeing no direct evidence, can only conclude there's no option but acquittal.
This is -especially- the case with Article II where the house impeached Trump for nothing other than exercising executive privilege.
I'm sorry you don;t like the fact your analogy is invalid, but invalid it remains.
There's no need to describe the process in any terms other than what is is - a political process where the house does what it wants to do and the senate does what it wants to do.

Similarly, you characterizing his actions as crimes in no way means they are.
This is especially the case in Article II, where the house impeached Trump for exercising executive privilege.

    Ayup.
Given everything they (thought they) had going for them, Democrats -seriously- under-performed in 2018.

When Durham completes his investigation of the Deep State coup attempt it will only help Trump. The IG Report has already confirmed everything Nunes had been saying about FISA court fraud.

Your welcome? I didnt realize that particular fact was in question.
No. Indirect evidence is still evidence. Many convictions are made based on circumstantial evidence. Bias is not a component of the evidence, it's a individual mindset. The validity of the evidence exists outside the political bias.

Unfortunately, the Reps have decided that even a smoking gun isn't enough to convict.

As for EP: I find it interesting that you dismiss the legal comparison to the impeachment process because it is not one, and having not been tested in the courts, becomes a non legal process by which anyone may do whatever they want, yet the untested nature of EP and if whether it would apply to personally protect the potential witnesses to POTUS criminal acts is considered settled enough without the same legal testing.

Then what is the point of having any structure or doing anything by any rules or processes or anything of the sort?

Ok, so why do any of it? Why even entertain the concept? If it's so meaningless, what's the point in even engaging?

I never made the claim that my words have any actual bearing. This is just meaningless 1s and 0s that will disappear into the void when this mboard eventually shuts down.

My position is that your wrong and the evidence is there, even if you ignore it. Also, my position is irrelevant with respect to the Dems. It's my own conclusion based on my reading of the evidence.

But please, continue. Something about a circus?

Just wanted to be clear - there's no direct evidence of the actions the Democrats have accused Trump of.
Its funny that you believe the Democrats, without direct evidence of the actions he is accused of, want to convict Trump, and yet aren't exhibiting bias. Sad, but funny.
Even if this weren't absolute nonsense - as you agree, the Democrats don;t have a smoking gun, so the point is moot.
Not at all sure what you think you mean by this, or how it addresses what I said.
    Please re-write.
This is a far cry from the issue of your attempted, invalid, analogy.
Both houses write their own rules and create their own processes - it is impossible to analog this to a criminal or civil trial, because those operate under rules established elsewhere, not by the parties involved.
