I never asserted illegal — I asserted corruption. You had to throw in that requirement because you don’t really have any rational argument, as typical.

You were wrong. The discussion was over whether or not the "Impoundment Control Act" was quoted in the accompanying 600 page report. You claimed it was not, based supposedly on the scan of the document that found no such reference in the report. The reference is on page 83 of the report. You were wrong. Admit it and move on.

    Fact remains:
    You cannot demonstrate said corruption.
    Concession accepted.

That was YOUR discussion, once you realized it was not included in the articles of impeachment and moved the goalpost.
The fact the act you mention is not in the articles of impeachment render any discussion of same irrelevant.

Considering the articles of impeachment don’t include anything that Democrats originally accused Trump of that started this entire circus, don’t you think it’s run it’s course? It was and is now officially a joke. Just Democrats throwing a big tantrum over 2016.

My bet is Pelosi will find a way to withdraw the articles "for future revision" and launch another investigation.

Did Congress hold the pursestrings when Obama unloaded the 1.8 billion in cash to Iran?
Ukraine got the aid. Intention is not really an act it is only an intention.

Misconception...the money "given" to Iran, as part of the nuclear deal, consisted of frozen Iranian assets in the United States (i.e. it was their money) and money the Shah's regime had paid us for weapons, we never delivered, due to the regime change.
The Ukrainian aid was never meant to be withheld indefinitely. Only long enough to get the new President to publicly announce that he was opening investigations into the Biden's and the 2016 elections...thus helping Trump politically and laying the groundwork to discredit the indictments of the Mueller investigation. The conspiracy failed with the Whistle Blower's report, forcing the release of the funds before the Ukrainian President's announcements, which then became moot.

They gave it back to us in the form of IED's and other forms of killing and injuring our soldiers.

I had to keep checking to verify that CNN actually wrote this.

McConnell just are Pelosi and Schumer’s lunch.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn...mpeachment-pelosi-schumer-jennings/index.html

There were some amazing comments from CNN.
******* CNN wrote this (see below)******
McConnell won this round against his keystone cops opposition because he has something they don’t; a reasonable argument.

There is more like this in the article....

Actually your post is neither accurate or true. About 1/3 of the national population are convinced Trump is their savior, who can do no wrong. Those support everything Trump does without question, & would vote for him regardless of who opposes him in the election. Another third of our population either is, or leans, Progressive, & would vote for anyone opposing Trump. The deciding third of Americans are somewhere in that massive limbo land in between, but it is they who will ultimately decide the election of 2020, & the future of this nation.

Americans are precisely split down the middle on whether they support impeachment or not. For me, someone who values evidence & truth, this even split is surprising & shocking in its revelation that half of our population no longer places personal concern or fidelity to moral & ethical values. Many of those who avoid considering those important aspects of our leader's lives, are the very ones who publicly moan & groan over what they regard as the treachery & tyranny of government. Yet when they vote, they elect such immoral & dishonest & self-serving candidates into public office; Trump being the most glaring example.

"About 1/3 of the national population are convinced Trump is their savior..."

OK, so this fiction is a group insult.

Otherwise, I can only answer that the post is the exact opposite of the reality. Progressives/leftists/Democrats appear to be all too willing to support any and all levels of corruption, dishonesty, and even violence so long as their hate America agenda is furthered.

I am a liberal & a Democrat & I don't "hate" anyone--not even Trump. I simply don't like the destruction Trump is doing to our nation & its people, & want him replaced ASAP. I also do NOT subscribe to, or support, corruption, dishonesty or violence as methods to win my way. Your post is so totally wrong, it's alarming. :( Neither I, nor your fellow Americans who happen to be liberals &/or Democrats, are your enemy. We love & care for America just as much as you claim to. We just want America & Americans to be more humane toward each other & the world generally, and less concerned about enriching the rich while ignoring or demeaning the working class whose efforts make all that wealth possible in the first place.

"...the destruction Trump is doing to our nation & its people..."

    Ridiculous.

In what way does one false narrative support another?

It is possible that what you & I regard as "destructive" may be defined differently. I suspect that to be the case. To me, Trump is like a battery operated toy that goes driving around the house bumping blindly into walls, cabinets, or furniture, and bouncing mindlessly off & heading into a new direction aimlessly. Trump is a mindless, careless, knee-jerk reactionary, who reacts to situations with high energy but little to no thought. He never takes the time or patience to consider or care about the impacts his actions might have on others, & I see no evidence he even cares. He is wholly self-serving in his every move, & always bases his decisions on how they might help him personally, rather than how they might affect the nation. He's the least humane, least compassionate, most dishonest President in American history. He's the worst possible example of any possible leader, to represent an honest & honorable America. He is, by far, the most corrupt President this nation has ever had to endure. I sincerely hope the American voters don't feel inclined to impose him over America as President again.

    Jeez.

Such narrative, narrative, blah, blah, narrative.

Did you ever stop to consider how many times his detractors have been proven wrong?

    Has the economy collapsed? No
Has he started World War Three, three times over? No
Has there been any fascist takeover? No
    Is Trump a dictator? No
Did the Obama administration spy on the Trump campaign? Yes
Did Trump "collude" with THE RUSSIANS? No
Was the "Muslim ban" racist? The Supreme Court says no.

I'm pretty tired of the constant spreading of all of this nonsense.

    Why do people do this?

I'm left with my own guesses.

    1. Many simply hate this country.
    2. Many don't care about the future. They just want all of the free stuff that their overlords will promise, until it all collapses.
    3. Many have an idealistic vision of a Global Socialist Utopia, which requires the destruction of all nation states.

Just to return to the original train of this thread (sort of), doesn't sound like Nancy has what she wants from Mitchy the Kid yet

    SNIP
U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday said she would transmit the articles of impeachment on President Donald Trump when she is ready, adding that House Democrats still need to see the Senate's planned rules for the impeachment trial.

"I'm not holding them indefinitely," Pelosi told reporters at a news conference on Thursday. "I'll send them over when I'm ready. And that will probably be soon."
    ENDSNIP

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/pelosi-says-house-likely-send-162222467.html

Mitch says he has the votes for a trial resolution... Get that vote done and the articles might be coming your way...

    1. The economy hasn't collapsed. The stock market is thriving. But the stock market & our economy serves primarily the wealthy. Over the past several decades, the working class wages have been frozen or under gradual decline. The difficulty of meeting ends meet has gotten increasingly difficult for most Americans. Trump's tax cut benefited primarily the rich. I don't agree with your assessment here.
    2. Trump hasn't started WWIII yet, but Trump is ignorant of sensitive international forces that can affect relations below the surface. Trump doesn't seek to fill the void in his knowledge base, even though he has experts at his disposal. Trump campaigned bragging, "Only I can do it." He has proven himself to be a one man show. He refuses to work with others, & has repeatedly asserted his inner distrust of others--ALL OTHERS. One thing that continues to dismay me personally regarding Trump is his refusal to work well with others.
    3. Trump definitely has fascist tendencies--or at least authoritarian ones. He feels most relaxed around totalitarian leaders, & least comfortable around democratically elected ones. He praises dictators around the world & brags about his great relationship with them, while he attacks & demeans democratic leaders around the world. His control of the normally politically neutral FBI, certainly smells like authoritative actions. His refusal to work with the State Dept slaps at his Constitutional oath. His attempts to involve Russia, Ukraine, & China in our domestic elections, is legally unconstitutional. His flagrant actions of ignoring Congressional subpoenas, plus ordering everyone in the Executive branch to ignore them too, is also unconstitutional, & valid grounds for impeachment. These actions weaken our Constitution, ignore Checks & Balances, & offend his own oath of office.
    4. Not yet, but he wants to be.
    5. The FBI, & other agencies in Washington, investigated what appeared to be excessive connectivity between Trump & Russia during the 2016 election. That's their job. I support that action, & would also support the same against any Democratic candidate doing the same things Trump was doing. This was not political. It was protecting the Constitution & our country from dangerous foreign influence.
    6. Trump DID collude with the Russians in 2016, & continues doing so today. He has long secret meetings with their official ambassadors; he has secret phone discussions with Putin frequently; he has made decisions removing U.S. forces & influence in key regions of the world, reducing American influence there, while watching & accepting Russians move int the voids he created, & taking over. Putin has publicly praised Trump for helping them gain advantages that harm our allies.
    7. The Constitution guarantees "freedom of religion," by stating that no politician can pass a law supporting or OPPOSING a specific religion. Trump ignored that part of the Constitution, & still does.
    8. Just because liberals have a different view of & for this country, doesn't in any way imply they "hate" the country. The very same charge could rightfully be levied against conservatives--particularly in view of the way Republicans are continuing to disregard the Constitution & their obligation & oath for it, daily, in their response to the impeachment trial.
    9. I'm a liberal, & I care about America's future. I've never met another liberal who didn't. So, in the simplest, most profound way, you are wrong.
    10. Conservative propagandist banter & pure B.S. :(

Congress members are never impeached. They can be expelled from office by a majority vote of the House or the Senate.

Not sure how you can dismiss an impeachment before you get the articles. If they do, then Nancy will just hang on to them, call more witnesses and drag this out for months.

    1. You blame Trump for a decades long trend, but refuse to acknowledge that that trend has reversed since he's been in office?

Yeah, that's exactly why I ignore such drivel.

    2. Let me know when he starts World War Three again.

    3. Yeah, yeah. Pump that narrative.

    4. Blah, blah.

    5. They fabricated those connections.

    6. Er... OK. Whatever. Do you think that, at this point, you will actually convince anyone to believe that?

    7. The Supreme Court found that the fraudulently named "Muslim Ban" is Constitutional. Too bad that you can't legitimately accuse Trump of being anti-religion.

    8. It's a damn shame that the word "liberal" has been bastardized. I would mostly disagree with Joe Lieberman, but he is a liberal that I would never accuse of being anti-American.

These people, today, aren't liberals. They are varying degrees of Communists or Socialists. Every idea that those people try to advance goes against the foundational principles that this country is based upon. That's the definition of destroying the country.

    9. A true liberal would be shocked by what the Democrat party has become. Trump is much more of a liberal than the party of hate.

    10. Sez you.

This is a political trial not a trial of law. The Constitution creates this political space and only this political space for the process of removing the President.

These are not jurists but elected representatives making a political decision.

I cannot Invision another process save replacing the Senate with the Governors of the States assembled. The New Jersey plan.

This is political, if done in a court of law the political power involved would corrupt the judiciary. This power rests now, in finality, with the Senators. There's no appeal. The people's representatives have the final say, appropriately.

The process as envisioned under the constitution did not foresee the 17th amendment. The only 'peoples representatives' under the constitution signed by our or founders already played their role. Regardless, there is no point in this fake 'trial' where the oaths are not worth a prostitutes chastity and the entire process is a political ambush of the House managers.

I would prefer that Pelosi dismiss the House managers she just named, after transferring the articles, and let the Senate dismiss the articles without a 'trial'. No prosecutors show up, no trial, no vindication, no acquittal. Just an impeachment with a recommendation for removal which the Senate dismisses, and no further involvement by either the House or the Chief Justice.
