Looks like Michael Flynn is removing his guilty plea. Personally, I think it should be thrown out and the FBI agents who forged and altered his 302's should go to jail forever.

Flynn was the target of a vindictive deep state after he spoke out against former President Obama. He should have an easy lawsuit and dismissal coming his way.

    Thoughts?

The "Deep State" (in the sense of RW "Conspiratorial Narrative") DOESN'T EXIST.

    ^And Everybody KNOWS That.

The notion of "Deep State" (in that context) is about as believable as the latest Roswell Alien Sighting.

I seriously doubt that Flynn will be vindicated (and given a dismissal).

    Buy, only time will tell.

I guess all of us will just have to wait and see (and find out at the same time).

The charges were sketchy. Flyn broke no laws in talking to the Russian so him lying about it makes no sense.

Flynn confessed that he worked as an unregistered foreign agent for the Turkish government for which he was paid more than half a million for his work on behalf of Turkey.

That was during the time that he was Trump's top adviser on all issues of US national security.

Flynn lobbied hard for Turkey during that period, including pumping conspiracy theories aimed at having the US take action against individuals and groupds that Erdogan was opposed to, with Flynn claiming actions agains these individuals by the USA as in the best interests of the US.

This is not all he is guilty of.

However, the idea that we would fail to prosecute and punsh those who take this kind of action against the US is just plain NOT acceptable.

In working towards a plea deal, Flynn consented to help US investigators. However, not only did he NOT help, he actually worked to cause US investigations to fail through lies and obfuscations.

Let's get real. This is America, and it is worth defending.

Was that the charge? Generally if people get caught not being registered they end up registering and get away with a fine.

Flynn was taking money to champion Turkish causes under color of working for America.

He was also funnelling money from foreign sources into the Trump campaign.

He lied under oath on serious issues.

I don't know what all else he confesed or was found guilty of doing.

He belongs in jail. He was working against America and our democracy and his failure to register was part of that - not just an accidental oversight.

I addressed the unregisted lobbying that generally is a fine.
First I heard about funneling money . So must not be a charge ?

That leaves lying in regards to a legal phone conversation. And there wad wwas even tthe remark by someone in the fbi if he should have been charged. So his major charge is sketchy.

After listening to Corsi and how they interrogated him the fbi can charge lying quite easily if they want to charge you. All you have to do is to get one thing wrong as they compare it to a verbatim transcript of the conversation. One memory lapse and you just lied. According to Corsi.

You are naive if you dont think this goes on.

This was a part of the effort to fish for evidencr of a putin trump conspiracy.
    Imo.

Flynn’s lawyers had pointed to what they believed were discrepancies between the notes by the two FBI agents, drafts of the 302, and the final 302 itself, alleging the documents had been “manipulated.”

The DOJ also dismissed concerns about alleged discrepancies between drafts of the interview notes, calling the changes "largely grammatical and stylistic."

The interviewing agents’ handwritten notes, interview report, drafts of the interview report, and statements are consistent and clear that the defendant made multiple false statements to the agents about his communications with the Russian Ambassador on January 24, 2017,” Liu wrote.

You can't believe anything that came out of the DOJ or FBI prior to Barr getting there; and, even thereafter everything should be viewed with suspicion.

Our institutions are wholly corrupt. They are completely dominated by leftist, anti-American Democrats who think nothing of committing crimes in pursuit if their agenda.

Our institutions need to be gutted, with most of the hierarchy imprisoned, and the rest of those dismissed stripped of their pensions and any benefits.

No. It leaves Flynn working as an unregistered foreign agent of Turkey while being Trmp's national security advisor - and having a serious go at influencing US policy through that avenue. He was also having plead guilty to criminal behavior, trying to plea bargain, and subsequently lying under oath. And, he was funneling foreign money into Trump's campaign.

Many people in government belong in jail, no doubt, but Flynn is not one of them.

If you check the historical record, the Central Park 5 also pleaded guilty. But it turned out they were innocent.

    Your point is petty.

only in this case, we know he did this, so why is he changing his plea

and as for the central park 5, has Trump ever apologized for wanting those folk get the death penalty?

the cental park 5 were proved innocent by dna evidence, and they went to prison

    Thoughts?

His plea is no longer relevant.... The Trump DOJ has asked for 6 months (more than Mueller did), but did agree to postpone sentencing for an additional month.

Flynn will be going to prison. Amount of time TBD.

America still hasn't heard the tapes of Flynn speaking to Kislyak... I imagine we will someday and that will be that...

    The 302 was actually altered.

It now seems there was a concerted effort, though isolated, within the upper-echelons of the FBI to influence the outcome of the Flynn investigation. By “dirtying up” Flynn, Comey’s FBI headquarters team of callow sycophants shortcut the investigative process. Arm-twisting Flynn through the “tweaked” version of his interview afforded him criminal exposure. The cocksure Comey team felt supremely confident that would inspire him “flipping” and give them the desperately sought-after evidence of Trump-Russia collusion that the wholly unverified Steele dossier was never remotely capable of providing.

I think we need to totally scrap the FBI and replace it with a similar agency but whose agents have to follow rules and protocols. No more rogue agents playing king makers.

Why is the trump DOJ lying about it then? They say that is BS and it wasn’t altered.

I would bet on that too. In fact, the delays in Flynn's case will most likely coincide with Durham's criminal investigation. Once Durham starts handing out indictments and the former FBI executives conduct and malfeasance comes to light, Flynn will walk and file a lawsuit against the government and win.
