Sorry, your train of thought seems to have become an incoherent drizzle, making no sense. Waste of time.

You inhabit an alternate bubble of Bologna planet. The rich pay the same as you percentage wise in taxes so we don't have enough to invest in America. They distract you with total garbage propaganda and stupid wars. Thanks for the corrupt depressions. The only supposed journalists that support your view are owned by Rupert Murdoch.

I wish you would stop this incessant babbling about "classified covert Mastermind idiot GOP operation" and "garbage propaganda machine".

Those terms mean nothing without being properly defined.

So an FBI agent was the head of SDS in upstate New York and got two freshmen to blow up the ROTC office and he was at Kent State before that means nothing? LOL.

I have defined them many times. The GOP propaganda machine is Rupert Murdoch TV and newspapers and Rush Limbaugh etc etc and the Koch brothers and heritage and a couple of fake Washington newspapers and that is it. A disgrace and a catastrophe for America. You don't know what covert means? LOL John Foster Dulles and Iran Central America banana republics, for Coolidge for that matter and the Dominican republic just goes on and on are you kidding me. Chile and Kissinger and a l l e n d e ring a bell? Argentina. Just goes on and on with the swampy GOP. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I used to have half of the license plate from his car. It was hilarious. He came back to campus to bust some kid who had a quarter ounce of pot and had put him up for 3 days, with his haircut then everything well read the damn what ink for Christ's sake wake up and smell the coffee
This was at 1 a.m. during exam week. Three black guys in the dorm yelled pig pig pig at the cop so they went back up to get them and by the time they got down again there were a hundred people and 15 minutes later 500. They got a hundred fifty riot cops they're in full regalia but dropped all the charges at 7 in the morning and towed away the three ruined cop car s. But Nixon and Hoover covered it all up the covert corrupt *******s.

That's it? Hardly a propaganda machine.

And you didn't know that Rupert Murdoch has supported plenty of Democrats for high office I suppose.

I've never listened to a single complete Rush Limbaugh show in my life.

What do you have against the Heritage Foundation? They're a think tank. They've had plenty of good, bad and mediocre ideas over the years.

I understand Ike's conversation with Diem, and thank you for those fine details, but that narrative fails to mention our support for the French when they were there. That narrative fails to mention Dien Bien Phu and its meaning.

The Vietnamese did successfully defeat the foreign invaders from France, only to have the invaders from the US take their place.

As the Pentagon Papers clearly revealed, the US government lied and deceived for many long years regarding our involvement there.

Diem's letter hardly qualifies as an invitation.

As for our Global War Of Terror, 6 months before we invaded Afghanistan by way of a magnificent deception, Colin Powell hand carried a check to the Taliban for their cooperation in the US drug war. They did not invite us to invade there.

So my question to you still stands--who since WWII has invited us to invade them?

If you are going to re-interpret the reported facts so you don't have to revise your position, you are going to have to breath your own smoke here. Not worthy of being considered "discussion", because you think it's about provoking an argument and winning rather than understanding or learning or updating your knowledge. Too bad.

Too bad you dodge questions, but it's quite typical on this matter. People prefer not to acknowledge or discuss the criminal history of the US government. I get it.

I wish it weren't so, but it is.

No, you don't get it. You- all of us- are arm-chair experts basing our opinions on the news, which in today's state is grossly unreliable. There are people everywhere who will tell us what we want to hear, no matter how much of a nutcase you are. You can't make a clear observation out of unreliable representations as facts, or opinion of any of the thousands of people holding themselves out to be experts because they think they know 1% of the facts.

No government, and no individual is flawless. While I can say we have made many bad decisions in terms of military interventions, I don't see any where there was criminal intent. That is all you see- and that is YOUR limitation. YOUR opinion. You are entitled to believe what you want, but demanding others agree with you to make you feel good about it- is YOUR mistake.

You can't prove your point in any legitimate, factual way; it is only your opinion. You know what they say about opinions.

I agree with many of your points, but would like to say that my opinions are not based on mainstream media. Most of my opinions are based upon life experiences, including what I learned in Vietnam, that the CIA air branch was in the drug business.

I agree that no government is flawless, but the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan were not errors in judgment, they were deliberate acts brought under fraud and deception.

As the recent Afghanistan Papers demonstrated, virtually every single government official lied to the public about our reason to be there and our success. That revelation paralleled exactly what we learned from the Pentagon Papers. Especially when it comes to war, the government lies so that special interests can make money.

I don't demand that others agree with me. People can think as they wish. However, I refuse to pretend that our government is truthful or beneficent. I know better, from life experiences. I will not admire The Emperor's New Clothes. The Emperor is naked.

11 U.S. troops evacuated from Iraq base after Trump claimed none 'were harmed'
    https://www.politico.com/news/2020/01/17/11-us-troops-injured-in-iranian-attack-100384

Eleven U.S. service members were injured during an Iranian missile strike last week against an Iraqi air base housing American troops, military officials confirmed late Thursday, despite the Trump administration’s previous assertion that no Americans were harmed in the assault by Tehran.

While no troops were killed in the strike on Iraq’s Al-Asad air base, “several were treated for concussion symptoms from the blast and are still being assessed,” U.S. Central Command spokesman Capt. Bill Urban said in a statement.
