This announcement makes it official. Trump BROKE THE LAW. Republicans have been pivoting around this point, rejecting it on highly dubious grounds, & insisting there was no law broken by Trump. Now, a non-political department of our federal government has publicly ruled that Trump did indeed break a law. And, they named the law (which I don't recall the title of). This announcement should be part of the evidence considered by the Senators/Jurors in the ongoing impeachment trial. McConnell's intent of making the impeachment trial a total farce, will keep Trump in office, but endanger our Constitution & the government it created. It would also increase the ability of the Trump administration to continue eroding our individual rights under that Constitution, while increasing the power & authority of Trump himself & his one-man-rule--which he never hid from the public even during his 2016 candidacy, when he repeatedly asserted, "Only I can do it." His whole time in office, he has done everything from the perspective that it's indeed him & only him, who can do anything. He's NOT a team player. He does NOT work well with others. He trusts no one except himself. He's a one-man show. And, that's very dangerous to America. He needs to be replaced, ASAP. I believe he should be found guilty by the Senate & sent back to his Tower, within the next 30 days.

You should use some more exclamation points to make your claim. I might agree with you.

LOL how about it was paid within the deadline NANCY SET, that's on her and to claim it's illegal even though paid before the deadline is just f'ing stupid. You late on a payment if you pay it a week early?

It's the "Impoundment Control Act." And, is noted on page 83, of the 600+ page report that the House Judiciary Committee submitted to back up the articles of impeachment. I agree that the GAO report should now be added to the evidence being considered by the Senate.

Yea right, let's talk facts. Was it paid before the Pelosi deadline? Answer: YES. Dem answer well a bunch of BS conjecture. It was paid before the time limit and that's the only fact you guys can state as a FACT. Your opinions are only factual in your head.

No, that NYT article doesn't say either way.

My point was Obama publicly announced the hold. From that, I'm going to give him the BOTD that his administration had the requisite knowledge and intent to complete the process successfully, including notifying Congress...

Your boy hid it away, leading me to believe the opposite...

Wrong again. And again. And again. You should do some research instead of abusing exclamation points:

    https://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/10/09/230676846/u-s-to-slash-military-aid-to-egypt

"The United States will withhold deliveries of Abrams tanks, F-16 aircraft, Apache helicopters and Harpoon missiles from Egypt as it cuts back on aid, a congressional source said.

"Washington also plans to halt a $260 million cash transfer and a planned $300 million loan guarantee to the Cairo government, the source said, after members of Congress were briefed by officials from the U.S. State Department about the administration's plans."

With that addition, they probably could have impeached Bill Clinton....

The GAO also found that Obama broke the law.

    Now what?

The Ukraine aid was released before the deadline.

    Therefore, no laws broken.

    *LOL*

Was that something that eeeevil Hussein did to benefit himself personally? Did he try to extort another government?

No. He made a prisoner exchange.

Things that you trumpers think are analogous almost never are.

Yes, let's equate getting an American soldier back vs subverting democracy...

It was released only AFTER Congress discovered the withholding. The law requires the President to inform Congress of his "intent" to withhold aid and the reasons for the withholding, BEFORE the actual withholding. That was never done. So...yes...he broke the law, hoping that Zelenskiy would make the public announcement before the end of the fiscal year, in the mistaken belief that the "Impoundment Control Act" did not require him to inform Congress earlier. The President is responsible, but if he remains in office, should fire the WH staffer that misinterpred the law.

Hmmm who the heck cares, the fact is it was still released before NANCY's deadline. The rest is talking points or could've come into play if it wasn't delivered before NANCY's DEADLINE.

    LMFAO!

So, half-black Presidents are allowed to break the law. Got it.

The reason it happens but nothing happens is also in the article

It's a symbolic announcement, but just another brick on the wall (heh) of the Trump Admins guilt.

I believe the name of that staffer is likely Mick Mulvaney... although he might be able to pawn that off on political appointee Duffey...

Nobody misinterpreted the law... they thought they could tap dance their way around it with footnotes and general cleverness...
