    :arrow: ~ Always get the very best tire you can afford - especially you 4-wheel drive folks. Very important ! ( you may already know this )

    Nice lookin' truck, TC.

    This is my old 1990 Ford F250 4WD 7.3 Diesel. Doesn't have the horsepower your turbo model has, but it gets the job done. I know that pick-ups are light in the rear end, but my truck handles snow very well. You just have to go slow and not get over confident (stupid). That big ole 7.3 in the front is heavy and helps a lot with traction when in 4WD. I gave it a new paint job (original colors).

    I have a 2017 commuter car with all the gizmos, and they're cool and everything. And I know I could get a new/newer truck with all the gizmos and more power, but I just can't bring myself to pay more for a truck than I paid for my house when I still have a good-running truck, even if it is old.

    This picture is bad because it was taken in the shade, but you can see the reflection of the American flag that is hanging off the side of my house in the window of the truck. One of those cool unintentional things you notice after you take the picture.

    I like BFG KO 2 all terrain. The compound is a little soft to get a lot of mileage but the tread keeps itself cleaned out pretty well.

    Agree.

    I use Toyo Open Country On/Off road tires on my pick-up. They have worked out great in all kinds of weather.

    Roll your fart sack out in the bed along with a Coleman coffee pot and you have a hunting cabin.

    Does anyone here have a steel building on their property? Once I close escrow putting one up is going to be my first structure. 40’X60’ or 40’x 80’. I don’t have any experience with them and am looking for brand recommendations. I will put it together but I want something quality.

    My fishin' buddy took this of me at a rest area along I-84 as we were headed out to the Snake River a few years ago.

    That’s a nice looking piece of water. I’ve only had my boat out once since I’ve moved to Idaho. Lake Pend Oreille on the forth of July. Got her tucked away in a cozy garage now though.

    ▶ I would never sell/trade this truck. Do what it needs and keep it ! Likely well worth any necessary expense and better than anything made today . ( to Hell with gas mileage ) Looks like good wheels too - very practical .
    As my old auto mechanic friend tells me : "Older trucks are bulletproof, simple and cheap to repair. Newer vehicles are all plastic & computer electronics. Very expensive to repair and not worth the trouble." :aww:

    Thanks, man. I bought it used with 60,000 on it in 1996. Now it has around 138,000. At around 100,000 I had the tranny rebuilt. When it was 30 years old, I paid for a high quality paint job on it. The chrome on the bumpers had degraded, so I got new bumpers and replaced the headlight lenses. I keep up all maintenance items - fluids, batteries, tires, suspension parts - whatever it needs. I keep it garaged when not in use. I don't commute with it - just use it for pick-up jobs. I get a lot of spontaneous compliments on it.

    It only gets 12-14 MPG city/highway, and when fully loaded with camper and boat, around 9 MPG. But the cost of a new or newer one is so freakin' high that it just doesn't seem worth it, so I just take good care of this one.

    Brownlee has an outstanding campground on the Idaho side called Woodhead. It is operated by the Idaho Power Company. It's where I always go when I go to Brownlee. The reservoir is good for warm water game species like smallmouth bass, crappies, perch, bluegill, and channel catfish. I've also hunted chukar in the hills over the reservoir.

    Love that area. I've been going there regularly for 30 years.

    ~ Remember the `$$´ saved on repair/maintenance ; insurance ; appreciation in value ( new goes down in value ) . That vehicle is still very safe in a collision if you have on a shoulder belt - and it is repairable.
    Best wishes ...

    The basic rule is this.No matter a truck or car.If the vehicle is in places
    like California or Arizona where there is no snow, let alone salt on the
    road in the wintertime, then you have a good chance of not rusting out
    the underneath. However most every other state especially the further north
    will be hard on a vehicle the older it gets.Due to rust.
    Places like Wyoming and Kansas { where many Farms exist }
    have plenty of rusted out trucks in yards. On account the snow and subsequent
    salted roads.Places like Minnesota and Michigan ... furgit aboud it.

    Probably a good idea to get the TruCoat if you live in Minnesota.

    OK, rude stuff. There is some stuff fluttering down from the sky this morning, while in not to distant past (like, 5 days ago) it was in the upper 70's. Just like the switching of the times spring/fall, make a decision, stick with it, and quit messin' with us!!

    Cold here for the next couple of days. Lows in the low 20s. Got water that needs to stay unfrozen.

    I think the Donner Party was en route to California. The Canabalism
    occurred when they got stuck at Truckee Lake on the California-Nevada
    border. Also called Donner lake, around 20 klicks from Lake Tahoe.
    I read the story of the Donner Party.I believe they only cut off flesh
    from the buttocks of those who perished { Froze }.

    I dunno.Doesn't sound very ladylike { Grab my gloves }.
    I don't think one would ever see a Jackie O { First Lady Jackie Kennedy }
    grab her white gloves. You did mean your white Gloves,I take it.
    I mean, not some hunting gloves used to trap Beavers and the like.,
