Then you agree that one shouldn't need an id to buy a handgun, right?

And there weren't many millions of people who have no voting rights.

The only reason not to require id. Is to ensure illegals vote for demoncrats

Your witnessing the take over by the socialist-communist deep state in the Commonwealth. You have a dirt-bag governor and Attorney general who both admitted wearing blackface and making fun of black Americans. An accused rapist waiting in the wings to be governor. Sanctuary cities popping up for illegals, efforts to overturn 2nd Amendment rights and threats of arrest on 1st Amendment rights. If civil war doesn't break out first our only hope is the people will rise up and elect sane politicians next go around. Once corruption gets a strangle hold on the political system it does make it difficult to eradicate.

This is not my understanding of how registration drives work in many states, but admittedly I am not an expert on registration drives.

No id no vote period. Should be the law.

Ohh and if your not here legally you shouldn't be counted in the census and if illegals are included in the 2020 census then that census cannot be used for any voting purposes.

It was REPUBLICANS in NC that were defrauding the voting system on a massive scale!

    https://www.vox.com/policy-and-poli...lection-fraud-leslie-mcrae-dowless-indictment

    :roflol:

That you were forced to EXHUME ANCIENT articles effectively PROVES just how RARELY voter fraud actually does occur!

But thanks for DEBUNKING your own inane OP in the process!

A good reason to have voter ID.

We're in an election cycle, they aren't ancient and voter ID is still being challenged.

Do you have anything intellectual substance to add or just bloviations?

The OP is just an exercise in bloviation without any semblance of "intellectual substance"!

19 huh? Nothing to see here, I am sure he came up with this idea all on his own and more than likely he is the ONLY one in the whole country to do that, for sure, again no need to do anything about voter fraud. Nothing to see here folks.

He should have just done what the democrat party does here in Colorado, send hundreds of volunteers to go to college campuses and round up unfilled mail in ballots. What happens to those ballets no one ever seems to know (snicker) but just by coincidence Boulder county is always the last one in and they somehow come up with just enough votes to keep dems in power. Funny how that happens. Again, move along nothing to see here folks.

Inbefore the “dead people on the voting rolls!” That is just a consequence of the system and how often voter rolls are updated.

I am a fervent democrat. I beleive in a federal ID number that will be attributed to all citizens when born and naturalized. The number will be put in use as the only means of voting 18 years after it is put into place, it can be eased in earlier if states make the effort.
the reason this will not work is that there are enough knee jerk right wingers who don't want no government telling us how to do things, and stll cling to the idea that little old ladies volunteering at the polls is really the best way to do things. Also they won't want to invest in the infrastructure. And lastly, it will keep them from putting up barriers to prevent some people from voting
But as you see, we do have common ground.
I am less on board when you decide to write off 9 million expat votes. Just a reminder that the US is the only country in the world that taxes it's expats for money they are making in their country of residence. We pay taxes for services that we will never receive, and to top that off, you would now like taxation without representation. Wonder where I heard that phrase before?

So you can't address the issue from an intellectual point. Gotcha.

How minuscule is OK? How many city counsel seats or mayorial races are won or lost on a handful of votes? Remember when Al Frankenstein won his Senate seat by the slimist of marginal.

Virginia election tie: Coin tosses, picking names in a hat? Yep, that's how some races are decided
"The tie in the Virginia House of Delegates is rare. Ties in general are uncommon, though they happen on occasion in local races. They become increasingly rare in statewide races and have never happened on the federal level, according to a 2001 study. "

Indeed. That was why I said right wingers wouldn't go for it (even though a right winger suggested here) because of a knee jerk reactionary "states rights" mantra. The federal government could issue a federal ID and then let states know that it might be in their best interest to use that ID as valid voting idea. A little like what Reagan did for setting the drinking age limit.
I have no problem with each state chosing it's own stupid and antiquated way of voting, but a common federal ID certainly would be a good thing in my opinion
