Why aren't Democrat Senators as candidates for president removed from the Senate trial of Trump?

All I see if you making an excuse for one set of partiality while complaining about another.

You care about and insist upon impartiality, or you don't. there's no middle ground.

Mitch has a clear conflict of interest. He does whatever Trump tells him to do.

I did? Where? I'm pretty sure in all of my posts here I've spoken about the philosophical arguments both for and against, and why either has merit and also why neither really matters.

I also said that in a court of legal law, then yes, they should be barred because there is a clear conflict of interest. In this political process where impartiality is not adhered to (using evidence of such), it's meaningless and they will still vote because the concept of Conflict of Interest is not part of the structure in this process.

I've made no excuses for anyone, and it seems that you seem to only want to hear one answer, and disregard all else.

Not sure why you fail to understand your references to Mitch do not in any way address or diminish the clear and present conflict of interest found in the three Dem senators in question.

You then agree that any complaint about the impartiality of anyone involved is moot - right?

Your "memo" is full of bullshit, Tog... and it's both obvious and easy to tell you WHY....

In the United States of America...
the "political" process for replacing and/or removing presidents is called "ELECTIONS"!
    And...
the "legal" process for removing presidents is called "IMPEACHMENT" BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENATIVES, followed by a TRIAL IN THE SENATE (i.e. 'legal'), which can result in "REMOVAL" from office! Sounds pretty damned 'legal' to me.... 8)

Anyone in the Senate voting on this? Yep. It's unfortunate, but this is the state of things today. It is possible to see the issues surrounding a concept, while still acknowledging that any discussion is purely theoretical because these people don't operate by the spirit of the rules, but do everything possible to manipulate the rules to their own benefit. Dem and Rep alike.

What a truly stupid observation... honestly. Everyone of those Democrat candidates WANTS TO GET RID OF TRUMP! Surely even the most oblivious Democrat sycophant in existence can see that plainly! Therefore, since ALL of the Democrat candidates are "gunning for him", how in hell is it fair to allow THEM to vote for his condemnation and removal from office? Have you got one ration reason in the world for something as rotten and corrupt as that?!

The fact you types "legal" in quotes says it all, as there is no legislative law involved.
Both the impeachment and the trial are conducted by political bodies, under rules and procedures created by those bodies, rather than laws.
The actions of political bodies are inherently political, and can be nothing else.
Thus, the impeachment process - the impeachment and the trial - is a political, not legal process.

From your post, “recommend measures s/he deems necessary and expedient.

Did trump recommend an investigation or did he withhold aid in demands of one?
Who did he recommend the investigation to?

IOW, the Senate should have dismissed the frivolous articles of impeachment immediately after delivery.

As they impeached Trump for doing his job and legally exercising executive privilege - yes.

We apparently have no grand juries to look into this scheme to engineer a coup d'etat, nullify the last election, and rig the next one.

Think, my man, THINK! By your "logic" then Republican senators who are up for re-election and have a admitted bias shouldn't be involved either.

So who does that leave? I await your response.

What a truly stupid post. They are within their rights if they want to get rid of Trump. They are entitled to their vote because they were duly elected by their districts. And there is nothing you or anyone else can do about that.

I think the 2020 candidate-Senators should have recused themselves from the trial and been given permission to skip the trial so they could keep campaigning.

Looks like Pelosi put her thumb on the scale against Sanders when she sat on the Articles for a month, knowing the trial would likely run over the date for the Iowa Caucus. Lots of campaign donations for those candidate-Senators going to waste.

that's the one true aspect of politicians... they have no obligation to do anything other than try their best to be (re)elected... all else is irrelevant to them.
