You do know that renewable energy now produces more power in the US than coal? For those who wish to live in the past and continue burning coal, simply scrub 99.5% of the harmful emissions. For those who focus on capitalism and profits, renewable energies are the best investments. Surely you've been following the role of AI in solar heat generation? Lastly, the reason renewable energy doesn't move faster is resistance from people like you...wouldn't it be great if more people got on board to solve these types of problems instead of being naysayers and roadblocks...
YES ...renewable is good and will only get better. The real future will be Fusion reactors. They are building test models in France in the next several years
Tee funny thing is, I bring things like this up all the time and it is completely ignored. Challenge them about the Medieval Warm Period, or the Little Ice Age, and it is likely that they will either ignore it, shut down, or immediately start to scream you are a climate denier. And I am old enough to remember the screams of many of the same crowd about the "Future Ice Age" in the 1970s. I am a skeptic, and the funny thing is that I see them doing the same basic mistake over and over. They do not make a hypothesis and try to validate it with evidence. They take data, and then build a claim around it that can not be proven or disproven. And challenge this hypothesis and you are "Anti-Science". Of course, many of the same people talk about 57 different genders, and talk about how that is a fact also. So guess how seriously I tend to take them anymore.

Suffering is the answer until then. If the governments force people to suffer a lot, and lead by example so the people don't rise up and kill them, go without heat in winter, go without AC in summer, walk or bicycle everywhere and wear a big rucksack to get groceries, limit electricity to 150 kw per month per household, then the world don't have to end in ten years. Suffering and sacrifice is the only answer that works now, while there's still a little time left -- because they say climate change is something that is serious!

How the climate has changed since your childhood I has changed a lot. Most of my childhood was spent on a caribbean island with warm breezes and palm trees. I now live in fly over country, USA where we have snow on the ground at the moment. Huge change for me.
No appreciable change. Still plant in spring, still harvest as soon as we can. Still days of full sun, full rain, flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, partly cloudy, fog, high heat, icy cold. Shrimpers say sea level is the same as always. No climate problems at all -- always going to have to deal with weather. The weather folks are much more emotional on TV now, that's the only change there is.
When I was a kid climate changed four times a year and we called them season. Now climate changes every day, unless its summer then its global warming and crazy cultists tell us the sky is falling. I'm starting to think this 'global warming' nonsense is actually a good thing, all that heat rising must be keeping the sky from falling, because these climate nutjobs have predicted our doom for decades and failed, miserably...
