China coronavirus: Death toll rises as more cities shut down

Alot like the governments who get rid of the scientists who study the problems, and the government's latest actions of banning any mention of studies and meetings that censor any news the government doesn't want to hear.

 

I'm hoping its just more of them taking extreme precaution, the size of these cities is quite astounding, I don't know much about them to be honest but based on the sheer numbers they must be packed in pretty tight.

 

At least the suffering and death gave you an opportunity to take a cheap shot at Trump! One would think that Americans on both sides of the isle would feel some compassion and work together when human life is at stake. Sad.

 

An interesting comparison.
China has about about .05 hectares compared to .5 hectares for the USA.

My perception may be the land in China is more evenly distributed (smaller plots of land where a large family will work a few acres) where the USA has more large areas of acreage for large farms with fewer people in the rural areas and bigger cities.

But the numbers between the USA and China are so disparate despite similar land area, it's hard to have a good perception of population density. But lots of big cities, regardless!

No, by their own words, there are plenty of the Right don't concern themselves with what human lives are at stake.

 

Expecting people to take responsibility for themselves, in a general sense, is not the same as ignoring sick people in the face of a potential epidemic.

Hey, the miracles of exponential growth. Isn't it a fun fact that economic growth works the same way, based on the same math, only slower. Just like the virus, which eventually runs out of hosts to infect, either by them getting immunized or killed, economic growth also will eventually stop. Why is that so hard for us to understand?

 

Good point. Ebola is really only a huge killer in countries with 3rd world and below medical facilities.

I'll be curious to see what they discover in the coming days about it's origin, etc.

I don't have a side. Why would travel restrictions from affected areas make one a chicken little? As far as who cares more, on average Republicans give more to charity than those claiming to care more.
