Everyone knows about Fast & Furious, the IRS scandal, and a dozen others. The Republicans just weren't Machiavellian enough to kick him out of office.

Giving arms to the drug cartels and allowing them to kill our border guards? Not good.

That Trump is basically Al Capone. Everyone knew he was guilty, but in the end, all they could get him on was tax evasion.

Telling a judge he can't convict your client of bank robbery because another bank robber 5 years ago was never arrested for his crime isn't really a viable defense.

Well I don't think he's quite that bad. See, it's hyperbole like this that is costing Democrats votes from the non hysterical middle who is busy enjoying the economy. (Trump is Hitler too, don't forget.)

Would the political Left have advocated impeaching Barack Obama for similar issues? Considering what they gave him a free and permanent pass on, the answer would be . . . no. Hence it really was a strictly politically partisan and utterly cynical impeachment. It will backfire on the Dem Party; which is going to be fun to watch.

A genuine crime of significance that puts this nation at risk recognizable as such under the existing laws of this land and then real evidence of the same. Since neither of those existed or were produced, Trump should not have been impeached.

I have given this some thought and now believe that the end result of this politically partisan impeachment farce by the political Left and their blatant use of the INTENT of the Constitution as their snot rag is going to be making it much more difficult to impeach a sitting president in the future, even of someone clearly violating important existing laws. But we shall see.

Our Founding Fathers did everything they could to discourage partisan political impeachments. It wasn't enough.

We have the transcript of the call. No crime was committed.

We have witnesses, witnesses who listened in on the call. We have hearsay gossips and disgruntled employees who don't like Trump's change in foreign policy. Sondland and Vindman were the only two with first-hand knowledge. Sondland testified to "No quid pro quo." Vindman is an extreme partisan hack who most likely was the source of gossip handed through to the whistleblower.

We have a timeline on the military aid funding to the Ukraine. Funding was delivered 3 weeks before the deadline. It didn't come up during the phone call.

We have Trump publicly admitting he has withheld information from Congress. Trump has Executive Privileges, believe it or not.

Nothing here justifies removal from office. It's all a partisan political tool to influence the outcome of the 2020 election.

If we ever elect a Democrat as president. The impeachment effort will begin the week of the election, two months before he/she takes office.

Not to mention the hypocrisy that House Democrats demand that they investigate the President who is running for reelection every single day, but that the Executive Office is not allowed to investigate a Democrat....because he is running for President. If this weren't so serious for the future of the Banana Republic country, it would be laughable.

Already happened - Birther movement. Started before Obama took office. Just think of Trump's impeachment as instant karma for his roll in the Birther crap. Clinton WAS impeached. Gods you dudes have short memories.

So you claimed it was all hearsay - but here you outline facts that are not hearsay - you merely argue against interpretation, not the facts themselves.

As for Executive Privilege? That was already dealt with by the Supreme Court in The United States vs. Nixon. There are
    limitations set on such privilege.

The Birther movement started by Hillary Clinton was not an impeachment drive. Memories? Pot, kettle, sooty. As for ol' Bill he did lie under oath . . . repeatedly.

False. Nobody said the DOJ couldn't investigate a Democrat - the charge is that Trump pressured a FOREIGN entity to investigate an opponent for political office. IF Trump had asked that government to investigate Burisma, all would be legal - but he specifically asked for a political opponent, Biden, to be investigated.

Yes. Interpretation of the facts is the issue with this impeachment. Everyone agrees on the actual cold hard facts. Democrats have one interpretation; Republicans have another. Perhaps Independents are still at "wait and see" for a final judgment. This is exactly why purely partisan impeachment based solely on interpretation, not on the facts, is a bad idea.

Perhaps the Democrats should have challenged the subpoenas through the court system, like they did with the Nixon and Clinton impeachments. Instead they withdrew the subpoenas because they had an arbitrary self-imposed Christmas deadline.

This second point makes a case that impeachments are a bad idea during the end of a President's first-term, when there is an election about a year away. The appearance of pure-partisan motives is even more stark when the House thinks they have to hurry-through to meet some timeline versus gathering all the witnesses and documents they need to make a case which is compelling to more than just their own political base.

We are discussing an event that will soon be over. Why not just wait out a Senate vote?. The next question is will all accept the Senate vote or will some keep up the harping? At this point we are all dancing on the head of a pin. Relax and let history unfold.

You are arguing that Congressional oversight must be suspended when a President is seeking re-election. WTF? Really?

NO amount of evidence would be enough for trumpers to admit the truth …..

    what more could be presented??

trumps recent whopper concerning Lev Parnas saying he " never met him, don't know him"

a recording of trump talking directly with Parnas has been released from 2018...

and trumpers say "yes trump talked with the guy but that does not mean he knows him"

loyalty to trump is astounding to say the least

he could shoot someone walking down 5th avenue

and trumpers would say "he deserved to die because it was trump that pulled the trigger"

No. You are putting words in my mouth. Again. It's hard to have a serious discussion when someone does that.

The founding fathers could never imagine a circumstance when a large portion of the population would ignore the facts of what a prez did (they couldn't imagine a propaganda machine like Faux either) so they could disingenuously claim impeachment is partisan.

    Here is the "smoking gun":

"The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it ... It sounds horrible to me."

I think Trump is right that it sounds horrible. Who disagrees? If Trump actually believed that Biden coercing the firing of a prosecutor (and he indisputably did so) was related to his son retaining his cushy non job on that board, then it may have been clumsy to ask Ukraine to get on it, but was it really criminal? How so?

A lot more than a phone call to Ukraine discussing corruption in 2016 and whether a coke snorting son of a former VP got rich in return for political favors.

Trump has not done anything to warrant removal from office. In fact, he should be doing more to put Hillary, Lynch, Powers, Comey, McCabe and others into prison. Trump was the target of a coup that failed and those people need to rot in prison so it never happens again.

What is more weird is the fact so many started plotting his impeachment months before he was inaugurated.
Does that not bother you just a bit?

When I see nonsense posts like this from people I generally consider to be above average it all but convinced me that Trump derangement is a real medical condition.

I have the advantage of being around him before he was elected President. You should take into consideration that a lot of people who found Trump to be a toxic candidate were lifelong Republicans and conservatives.
