"The Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump will be resolved in the next week or so; the president will claim vindication and that it's all over. He's only half right."

"He will be officially acquitted on a largely partisan vote, but the issue and investigations of Trump’s misconduct won't be over. There will be more House inquiries into new revelations on the Trump-Ukraine scandal, perhaps even the Mueller special counsel probe, the president's potential financial conflicts of interest — and likely new lawsuits."

"What the Senate does — or doesn't do — in the days ahead will shape these events. If the Republicans are seen just trying to protect Trump, it won't change the outcome but will ease the case for more wide-ranging subsequent investigations.

"Republicans will counter with two arguments: that their opponents are ignoring the issues voters really care about while hounding the president, and that this is unprecedented harassment in an election year. Both are bogus."

"The House passed an ambitious legislative agenda last year on major domestic initiatives; almost all are being stiffed by Senate Republicans and the Trump White House. As for the unseemliness of investigating a presidential candidate in an election year, in 2016 the House Republicans conducted countless, politically-fueled inquests into Hillary Clinton"

Trump will always be only the third President ever to be impeached, and everyone knows "the Trump scandals will be an unfolding saga, " largely due to Trump himself. Nothing will be settled with a Senate acquittal, in fact, the manner in which Mitch gets his quick ending may set the table for the next nine months and perhaps four years

If reelected, and the Democrats maintain the House, the drama will only intensify. Trump never learns from his mistakes, his ego it too big, so it is inevitable the emoluments concerns, his taxes, the lawsuits, further Ukraine revelations, and just Trump being Trump will guarantee continuation, he just can't help himself

What crime do you think Trump committed? Don't assume your party will keep the House, you made progress in 2018 with the tailwinds of the Mueller hoax at your back.

If both parties were as concerned about representing the people as their concern about party politics America would be better off .

Good. I like the House investigating Trump. It keeps Trump on the narrow and the house from legislating more progressive BS.

If this an attempt to get the Senate to somehow punish Trump in liu of removal from office to avoid looking biased, I think we all know precisely how that will work out... as long as Trump is in, the left will be screaming foul no matter what anyone does.

Yawn, Republicans don't have to defend Trump.. it is Democrats responsibility to prove him guilty. That they haven't even come close to doing.

Multiple sources familiar with Bolton's book told The New York Times that he writes that President Trump personally told him that $391 million in aid to Ukraine should be frozen until Ukrainian officials announced the investigations, including one into the Democratic National Committee.

    Hard to say.

I honestly thought trump's chances were destroyed the day that he bad mouthed US prisoners of war as not real war heroes.

I am intimately aware of the fact that Republicans have remained loyal to trump despite a mountain of evidence to support the fact that he is a corrupt ****ing moron.

Underestimating President Trump will cost you another election. May be better spending time learning to cope for 5 more years.

It has been this way since Trump was elected and I do not expect things to change. The lefty media, democrats and establishment Republicans will continue their efforts against the millions of Americans who voted for Trump.

My gut tells me that the number of Trump supporters has grown, exponentially.

What is so dumb about it. If the Senate does not allow new evidence, then that invites the House to go again based on new evidence.

Your probably right, but I don't think the Democrats are going to come out to good either. The FISA court has already come out and dressed down the FBI on this shame of an investigation on Trump from the now shown to be fake dossier that the Democrats paid 12 million dollars for. We will soon find out who was behind it when the John Durham report comes out. The FBI doesn't make 17 errors in their handing of the Trump investigation. When your investigation a President you make sure all your T's are crossed. Unless something comes out on the Ukraine investigation, the history books are going to show Trump impeached at a time the country never looked better and Hillary saying they've been trying for two and a half years to impeach Trump and a number of Democrats saying if we don't impeach him, he'll win again. The whole thing is going to look like a sham to get the President and to try and get back in power.

Well they better hurry because the clock is ticking. This impeachment garbage alone has caused many dems to walk away from the party.

What makes anyone sane person think that if Trump is not removed, and if he wins in November, that gives him a free pass to do whatever he likes? Nah. He will be a dead man walking. The truth will come out at some point in the next four and a half years and Trump has no immunity from more and more impeachment action. His conduct will not be beyond close Congressional scrutiny, and that is exactly how it should be and how many would argue the Founding Fathers envisaged.

    Oh, yeah!

That Bolton is just another Lefty Democrat who tricked poor Trump to say all those good things about him and appointing his high position in the White House and the Democrats messed with the scoreboard in the Senate office to get Bolton to be approved and the Republicans were so shocked they couldn't say anything!

Oh, the perfidy of these Democrats! Their Deep State is all powerful and Trump is the only way we can save us!

    MAGA!
