Supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders' White House bid and some Democratic National Committee members are frustrated with some initial appointments made by DNC Chairman Tom Perez to the crucial committees that will oversee the rules and party platform at this summer’s presidential nominating convention in Milwaukee, Wis.

Their frustration comes after Perez named former Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts – who was a surrogate for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign -- as co-chair of the convention’s Rules Committee. And Perez picked John Podesta – who served as Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager – to have a seat on the committee.

No wonder Bernie Sanders supporters are pissed-Hillary Clinton's surrogates are to oversee election rules and party platform.

Its looking like the Democrat party is trying to stifle Bernie just as his popularity is rising.

John Podesta and Barney Frank are long time democrat swamp scum-and no doubt they want Bernie out of the race.

are they really gonna screw Bernie twice in a row? I'm starting to see it really is a plantation and it looks like their slaves (democrats) have ZERO say in who they want to elect.
Although I suspect this is due to even the DNC not wanting Bernie's communism, STILL!, the law is the law and the people of their party should dictate WHO they want, not the politicians they worship

Will the Democrats let Bernie win and save face knowing he will lose to trump.

    Or

Will the Democrats screw Bernie again, prove what we say about them, to get a candidate that stands a chance... like Biden/Pete

Poor Bernie.... surging in the polls, so the DNC is going to pull the rug out from beneath him.

They picked people with experience on past campaigns.

    So what?

Why would anyone find picking experienced people to be unusual?

And the battle begins. In what may be a brokered convention now a battle for committees and Perez assigning Hillary compatriots/surrogates and Sanders screaming bloody murder.

    Gonna be fun to watch

Sanders allies in new uproar over DNC convention appointments

Some Democratic National Committee (DNC) members and supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) are venting frustration at DNC Chairman Tom Perez over his initial appointments to the committees that will oversee the rules and party platform at the nominating convention in Milwaukee later this year.

Sanders’s allies are incensed by two names in particular: former Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who will co-chair the rules committee, and Hillary Clinton’s former campaign chairman John Podesta, who will have a seat on that committee.

The Sanders campaign unsuccessfully sought to have Frank removed from the rules committee in 2016, describing him as an “aggressive attack surrogate for the Clinton campaign.”

And Podesta, a longtime Washington political consultant and Clinton confidant, is viewed with contempt by some on the left. One of Podesta’s hacked emails from 2016 showed him asking a Democratic strategist where to “stick the knife in” Sanders, who lost the nomination to Clinton that year after a divisive primary contest.

“There's a very small number of appointments of allies to Sen. Sanders,” said Yasmine Taeb, a DNC member from Virginia who has not endorsed a candidate in 2020 but attended the 2016 convention as a delegate for Sanders....

Sanders should have learned the first time and not played nice because they are going to do it again to him.

Proves he's not qualified to be president as he lets people use and abuse him.

If they did to Trump what they did to Sanders you can bet that Trump would have tore them up.

Over on democrat underground they are saying Hillary is trying to purge the DNC of Sanders supporters.

I wouldn't put it past the party to do as much-but it also suggests how worried the party is about Sanders.

That "other site" that you are "glued to" 24/7?

    Cool.

Thanks for keeping us informed as to the goings-on at OTHER sites.:bored:

My participation in PF is quite enough for me.

I don't feel the need to go on other sites and then bring that stuff over here.

    But, hey. Different strokes.

If lurking at DU makes you happy, then more power to you.:handshake:.

Now, back to the OP Topic:

Anybody (among the Dems) who doesn't like Perez's moves are always free to help elect Trump in the fall.

The secret ballot is a beautiful thing.

    Problem solved.:salute:

It's related to what I wrote about the other day in regards to just how much Biden and Hillary share in common in regards to how the DNC has been blocking, spinning, and covering for them and how the DNC has treated Bernie Sanders on their behalf. Notice that only one leftist responded to this and he essentially sees no problem in having only Bernie enemies on the DNC's rules committee. These people cannot even admit that anything is hinkey with the Dem Party's leadership even when the garbage is happening before their very eyes.

I think it's even worse than that. I think that most know that what the DNC is doing is wrong but they are now so inculcated in a 'The political ends justifies the political means' philosophy that they are simply willing to go along with ANYTHING concocted by their leadership . . . regardless of its blatantly anti-ethical nature.

Sanders will be stabbed in the back by the DNC. This time the knife will go in slowly as opposed to Hillary's ISIS like kill.

The DNC is using Sanders as a bait-n-switch vote getter? Again? No way! *feigns surprise*

The RW seems to be more concerned with this "issue" than the Dems.

    What does that tell you?

I can't speak for others, but I can tell you Sanders is the only runner who even seems possibly genuine in his policies. Granted, I think those policies are terrible, but I really hate to see the establishment getting away with riding roughshod all over genuine populists.

    Point taken.

BUT, if the Dem. Primary really is going to be an US vs THEM (pitting the Progs vs The "Establishment")...

Then everybody in opposition to Biden, other than Bernie, should drop out.

And, let it become a 2-Person Race.
