Trump is one of those guys who knows a lot about 1 thing. Which is generally fine, but is the epitome of wealth-momentum. It's really really really hard to go broke when you start out and grow up rich. Compared to regular folks, he is a success (whether by his own hand or not). To people who exist at his level of wealth and business, he's a joke with an amazing legal team, who's best days are well well behind him.

One thing I've yet to get is the sudden disdain for the Boomer generation. Liberals seem to hate "Boomers". I disagree. Trump wasn't handed anything from his dad without earning it. As Trump has made his kids do, he, too, was forced to go to college and graduate before he could get anything big from his dad. And he didn't start at the top.

There's a massive list of people who were millionaires at one point in their life, then blew it all or invested unwisely and are now broke. Mike Tyson, at one point in his life, was worth over $300,000,000 dollars which is almost $700,000,000 when you adjust for inflation. Smart people know how to invest, idiots end up busted.

 

There's a reason 70% of lottery winners are all broke within 5 years.
