Sure, they would not agree with anything happening to them, but it's okay when it happens to some other guy. Out of sight, out of mind.

It's like this with illegal immigration. The woke lib thinks it's wonderful to allow millions of illegal immigrants to be bussed into a towns in flyover country. The libs never heard of these towns, and they won't have to deal with the illegals. They'd sing a different tune if their taxes went up, and their children were suddenly stuffed into crowded classrooms, because their schools suddenly has to educate 50 kids who don't speak English, supply these wards of the state with clothes and food, and a place to live in.

If Trump did nothing wrong he would let people testify.

Again if you wanted them you should have gone to court. Executive privilege claims must be litigated be they good bad or indifferent.

Let's face it: the Republicans in the Senate are total and complete COWARDS.

They don't want Bolton, Mulvaney, any current or former White House staff to testify cause they are DAMN scared they will spill more beans on Trump and Trump will look very corrupt in the eyes of the Senate and the American people.

Mind you, the Democrats are asking for REPUBLICANS to testify, not Democrats. Republicans, chosen by Trump and his MAGAmates. If the Republicans are afraid that Trump's own chosen current and former staff-members will spill the beans on Trump, then wow.....they sure know how to pick em'.

Courts or judges never call witnesses just because the prosecution or the defense wish they could have gotten more..... even though they didn't really try for more witnesses.

Here's Bolton's testimony before he was advanced millions to write a smear all book and a few days before he was canned.

Yes, we are paying their salaries. Democrats are happy to pay Congressional salaries to have the House impeach a sitting president who they dislike. Republicans are happy to pay Congressional salaries to have the House and the Senate spend time working on immigration, trade deals, lowering healthcare costs, and keeping the economy humming with lots of jobs. Republicans don't like wasting time and money on something where everyone already knows the outcome. Trump will be acquitted. Time to move on and have Congress get back to work: Dems can go back to investigating while Republicans go back to working on issues.

It's not about "hiding" anything. It's about the efficient use of time and money....our money.

Yup, crazy stuff, when an innocent man wants a speedy trial, to bring an end to three long years where his enemies have hidden behind the law to assault his character and tarnish his name.

The House withdrew their request to call the same witnesses they now demand the Senate call. It's very illustrative when you consider how it's not called a cover up when the House declines to call those witnesses, but it is a cover up when the Senate does not call them. This is a Schumer-Schiff-show, and a freaking disgrace.

If Democrats having figured out by now that Trump would never be thrown out of office, they are figuring out now that the House gifted them with the impeachment they asked for, but never promised them a guilty verdict in the Senate. They screwed their own base again if they led people to believe anything different would happen...which, really, they didn't make any such promise.

At this point, it would be best for Democrats to accept the acquittal vote sooner than later and move forward to build up whichever rich old white man they want to prop up to run against Trump.

I remember the days when Bolton was an evil war monger and Parnas was an untrustworthy lying criminal. Now they are the left's newest shining icons, the new heroes upon which they hang their hopes. How soon the left's base shifts 180 degrees when instructed by their leaders.

I can no longer remember if Republicans stated the House process was going to fast or too slow. It seemed to change constantly. Going to court = slow the process by months. Was that good or bad, I forgot. Don't go to court and Republicans sob uncontrollably they should have. It makes me want to cry.

Democrats and media made Trump the center of attention during the 2016 campaign season. They have made Trump the center of attention every day since he won the election. It's counter-intuitive, but Trump knows better than anyone that bad/negative press is better than no press. The media and Democrats are giving Trump the opportunity to suck all the oxygen (attention) out of the room. Again. Challengers look pale and boring by comparison, not like leaders. Democrats are digging their own graves for 2020. Again.

They didn't want Trump to exercise his Executive Privilege. It would have taken "too much time"...and the courts might have sided with Trump. There is no "magic" that would cause a Senate subpoena to have more power than a House subpoena would have had.

If the Senate votes to hear from Bolton, Trump can still challenge the vote in the courts by exercising Executive Privilege. The trial could run all the way into next year....past the election even. Democrats have placed themselves between a rock and a hard place.

That is truly all they have.

The House dems infer Trump only wanted to dig up dirt on Biden, because he was viewed as a possible opponent in the general election. They have no proof of that, just their personal, speculative opinions.

But all Trump needs to do is illustrate how corrupt Biden was during his time as Vice President, where he went about using his power and influence as VP to use corny capitalist schemes to enrich his family members.

Schiff certainly thought poorly of Bolton:

FLASHBACK: Adam Schiff Said John Bolton Lacks 'Credibility' and Is Prone to 'Conspiracy Theories'

One new clip shows Adam Schiff, the lead House impeachment manager trying to make the case for Bolton to testify, saying Bolton had a "lack of credibility" and was prone to "conspiracy theories." Schiff now argues that Bolton is an important and believable witness.

"This is someone who's likely to exaggerate the dangerous impulses of the president toward belligerence, his proclivity to act without thinking, and his love of conspiracy theories," Schiff said of Bolton to MSNBC's Rachel Maddow on March 22, 2018, when Bolton was named Trump's national security adviser. "And I'll, you know, just add one data point to what you were talking about earlier: John Bolton once suggested on Fox News that the Russian hack of the DNC [Democratic National Committee] was a false flag operation that had been conducted by the Obama administration."

...and they really love to accuse the other party of engaging in the very activities that the dems have been engaging in. Such as now they accuse the repubs of engaging in a "cover up." It's they who manipulated witnesses to cover up the truth.

Even now, Schiff is still trying to pretend that the whistleblower's identity needs to be hidden, as if it's a super secret matter that would unbalance our entire way of life, should we hear testimony from him.
