It's from an old report but it may still be valid and it seems credible.

"In April 1997, the Pentagon announced that there are fourteen million antipersonnel mines in U.S. stockpiles, including ten million "smart" self-destructing mines and four million "dumb" non-self-destructing mines. Three million non-self-destructing mines are slated for destruction, with the other one million reserved for use in Korea. The inventory cap announced by Clinton in January 1997 will thus be eleven million antipersonnel mines. Not included in any of those numbers are nearly one million Claymore mines which the Pentagon now classifies as command-detonated munitions rather than mines."

I just tell myself that only cheap Chinese AK’s were used to make it.

Right and it was a partisan impeachment without one Republican vote rammed through with no evidence. It will go down in history as such.

The U.S. has not conducted what is called "carpet bombing" since World War Two.

And no mere bombing campaigns like Rolling Thunder, Linebacker I & II in the Vietnam War do not remotely qualify.

Thats the problem with big government. Those pushing for higher taxes always complain when the money is used to bomb countries that never attacked us.

No, he wasn't concerned with it, but why is Trump reversing it at the end of his first term? I know the arguments AGAINST landmines. They're excellent arguments. I don't know the arguments FOR landmines. Have they resulted in saving the lives of any of our soldiers in the last 20 years?

Oh, really. Remind me, who was it who "fell in love" with Kim Jong Un?

Obama did a lot, but he never fell in love with any of our enemies.

We dropped way way more bombs on Vietnam than were dropped in WW2. It's not even close. And we weren't even at war when we did it.

Obama gave billions to a country who's favorite chant is death to America and who used a portion of that money to kill and horrifically injure thousands of US troops. Trump by the way recently killed the architect of that carnage.

I thought we were talking about embarrassing the country? I would much rather see Iran get its cash back in a deal to stop nuclear proliferation than a grown man "falling in love" with a brutal dictator.

I mean, what went through your head when Trump said that? It's so f-ing bizarre.

Raw numbers of bombs in no way classifies such an action as "carpet bombing". The main reason the U.S. dropped so many bombs in the Vietnam War was it had the capacity to do so compared to World War Two.

Donald Trump acting like an idiot in no way excuses Barack Obama governing like an idiot.

Carpet bombing, devastating bombing attack that seeks to destroy every part of a wide area.

    ...

During the Vietnam War, President Richard Nixon ordered carpet bombing of North Vietnam as well as Cambodia, which was believed to be supplying the Viet Cong.

Falling in love with a leader we're still technically at war with isn't idiotic. It's treasonous, it's literally giving "aid and comfort" (i.e., LOVE) to an enemy.

I know, it sounds silly doesn't it? Committing treason by falling in love with a person who wants to destroy your country. Who could have imagined such a scenario? But then, I'm not the one who said I was in love with Kim Jong Un.

I never took him seriously as I don't think Donald Trump actually loves anyone except himself.

Exactly. Which the U.S. did not do in the Vietnam War. For all the massive amounts of bombs dropped the U.S. pretty much always had specific targets in mind.

The part you didn't quote, which is rather dishonest, since it completely undermines your position:

During the Vietnam War, President Richard Nixon ordered carpet bombing of North Vietnam as well as Cambodia, which was believed to be supplying the Viet Cong.

Never let facts get in the way of someone who has an axe to grind against our president.
