It is called "desperation", my friend and despite what you may believe they are at a point of "nothing to lose".

Desperation? With their own leaders? What Israeli govt offered Gaza open borders,
industrial parks, rail link (as far as Galilee) a sea port and airport? And what leader
in Gaza rejected all of that because of a traffic accident in the West Bank which
    claimed four Palestinians?

Oh.. and more land in the Negev to expand into.

I... am... not... so .... sure... there... is .... desperation.. amongst... the... Gazans.
Beggars can't be choosers, so clearly they aren't beggars.
A clue - on the Fatah website it states to that Jerusalem will be taken back with
violence, "Islam is our weapon and our children are our ammunition." So even
hurling every last Jew into the ocean (good luck trying) won't end this thing - it's
    about Islam too.

When you gamble away your possessions and you are considering placing a bet on your very last dollar I will dissuade you. But when your possessions have been stolen then I support you in any endeavour for you to regain it, even if you are down to your last bullet.

Gazan used to belong to Egypt.
Egypt should take back the strip.
And Jordan could take back the West Bank.
And before them Turkey owned the land.
When Turkey, Egypt and Jordan owned Gaza and the West
Bank there was no complaint from the Palestinians - this is
not lost on the cynical Israelis.

We need to remember the other thing Trump has done - cut all aid to the Palestinians. He is doing exactly the same to the Palestinians as he is doing to the people of Iran and Venezuela. Do as we the Mighty America say or starve.

Sounds fair to me - you don't give tax payer money to people who refused
to do what you ask, and despise you in any case.
But the Palestinians get billions, so they are doing just fine.

Oh are you talking about the money Israel is with holding from them. Money she has access to because of Oslo - a treaty she did not keep - except the parts that allowed her to increase her land - and in this the US has been in cahoots certainly since after Clinton.

Of course Israel as she is occupying the West Bank and Gaza has a responsibility to provide financially for the Palestinians. I am sure that I read that the US had taken this on till Oslo was finished.

It will be Israel's responsibility to provide for the good education which Palestinians have had this past 50 odd years while she has been colonising them claiming it is an occupation and there is no alternative as she disobeys almost all International law.

I do appreciate that you do not value the lives of people you don't like which would include the Palestinians. Unfortunately you support Colonialism, you support the taking of another's land, you support the using of a world class army against civilians, you support Apartheid, you support leaving people with no rights for eternity. I fight against everything you support.

Pray provide a source to describe the billions of dollars the Palestinain's are now receiving after the US cut off aid.

The situation remains that what people should remember is that in the US has cut off aid to the Palestinians to add just another pressure on the Palestinians to allow Israel to take everything she wants and form an Apartheid State where the Palestinians will live without rights for eternity. Given that the people of Gaza were prepared to allow Israel to use them as target practice as they protested Israel not allowing them into land which they have a legal right to, I doubt very much they will do as demanded. For the US it is 'Do as we say or Die.' We shall see.

The UNRWA gives something like a billion dollars a year to the Palestinians.
Not bad for a people who since the day of the English have not agreed to a
    any permanent treaty with Israel.
This is Jewish land. All of it. I am bothered that in going to Bethlehem with
my family I am entering the West Bank. You should know Bethlehem through
the bible stories - it belongs to the Jewish people. And same with the temple
mount - it's now colonized by Islam.

Personally I can't stand Trump. But I admire Einstein and he said, to the
effect, that the definition of a fool is someone who keeps doing the same
failed thing, expecting a different result. And that's what the world has been
doing with Palestine for generations. Trump is doing something different.
Can't be worse than what it already is.

You are forgetting what you were first of all replying to. The US has there as well stopped funding.

    This conversation is over.

Meanwhile in the land the Israelis with their world class army are intending on taking life goes on

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-49125785

The bolded bit is very important. Although Abbas apparently refused an indecent amount of money to be put in his private account if he agreed to the 'Theft of the Century'
people are saying they will only believe he is on side and ready to give up his perks when he ends the Oslo Agreement and stops working with Israel. Then the Palestinians can actively work for the only resolution left - one state with equal citizenship and rights for all the people.

Ahr, so you would support Gaza being given to Egypt and the West Bank being given to Jordan?

Like anything, it's nuanced and complicated. The offers Israel made to Gaza in particular were
quite remarkable. Their rejection can be read on many levels - one of which is religion and another
is race. It's presented as land but that's simplistic - Gazans "returning" to Israel are just going to
find a whole new set of issues.
Gaza has long been a part of Egypt, on and off. And both populations are Islamic. Why doesn't it
become a part of Egypt? Of course, with Jordan and Egypt up against Israel's borders you have
another issue. But no matter what you do - there's going to be issues.
I just hope that the Palestinians, with their never-ending wars, don't end up the like Muslims of
    Spain ended up.

In other words, Israel will never allow Gaza to join Egypt or allow The West Bank to join Jordan. Israel are only interested in getting more and more land

Really? Well Israel offered Gaza and the West Bankers more land in the Negev
and the Israeli Arabs have been offered the chance to come under West Bank
    administration.
And Israel offered the Golan back to Syria if she did a peace deal with Israel,
    but this was rejected.
And Israel gave back the Sinai to Egypt.

If they want "More and more land" they are doing a lousy job of it.

So according to you, Israel is smaller now than it has ever been? Have you heard of those Israeli settlements? Perhaps you think that they don't take up any land. And it's so generous of Israel to offer some disconnected bits of an uninhabitable desert

The Negev is growing as an important part of Israel.
Yes, I have issues with Jewish settlements too - but
as long as Palestine refuses to do a final deal with
Israel the Jews will continue to nibble away at their
    land.
But the Oslo offered Palestinians 97% of their land
back. And Gaza land would increase. The deal was
rejected by the Arabs - it's all or nothing, so nothing
    it is.

The bits of land were disconnected small patches of land that had Israeli controlled check points and Israel continued building new settlements on land that was supposed to be passed onto Palestinian rule. Also Palestine were not offered control of that "97% of their land back"

Here's the Israelis POV. A fully independent West Bank (say) with Gaza
(Israel proposed a connecting highway or tunnel) will quickly be under the
sway of other Arab nations, or Iran. Quickly the WB could become another
Lebanon. Controlling weapons into the WB by say the UN will be useless,
the UN couldn't stop 140,000 missiles slipping into Lebanon. And this WB
at one point is a day's walk to the Mediterranean coast.
This security fear has been exploited by settlers, IMO.

The US continues being effective in its Dictatorship of the world, this time apparently creepy Kushner playing the Mafia boss to make sure no word will be heard of descent with his desires.

Russia will be the last to fall. But maybe Moscow will push back ....... and shovel the snow towards Washington. And who knows - maybe more will fetch their shovels and follow.

Daniel Levy who worked on Oslo talking about the so called Deal of the Century

    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200129-un-rejects-us-deal-of-the-century/

I am not sure what happened at the UN today - just heard someone saying they thought the US had been doing a lot of bullying. Not sure if that was in connection with post 197 above.
