When you say that Mexico invaded us (or similar) with no further significant qualifiers, the interpretation given by @rahl conforms to logic. Yours does not.

 

If the "list is too long" then you should have no problems listing a dozen or so individuals or corporations which have profited excessively by war and explain why those profits are excessive.
