I remarked earlier that I was surprised that a New Yorker would be the first GM at Daytona, but Trump doesn't need to pass himself as a working class "good ol' boy" and for that reason I don't think he will. I don't think NASCAR fans and his "good ol' boy" supporters need, want or expect him to pass himself off as one, either. Have you ever worked construction? Do you know how many construction jobs Trump has created over the years? You know, Democrats once understood such people and connections, but unless those "good ol' boys" are union workers lining Democrat pockets they crap all over them. They're "uneducated", "rube", "deplorable" manual laborers that Champagne socialists and effete yuppie "progressive" scum look down their noses at the same way they look down at the "redneck" farmers that they despise and ridicule all the time. When I was a Leftist and a Democrat those were core Democrat constituencies, but that party left us years ago...
I wonder if Trump will say "gentlemen, start your engines" or will he say "drivers, start your engines" Not that I really care....
ROFL. Right, they wouldn't want to offend the .001% of NASCAR fans who are unpatriotic and/or don't like Trump. I think it's great. The great American President grand marshalling the great American race. Plus the presidential limo, and (unless they change plans) they're going to fly low going over the track coming into the airport so folks will see Trump's plane arriving. The race is sold out and scalpers are going nuts jacking up prices. MAGA & KAG!
But that is exactly the way he is presenting himself, as one of the "good ole boys," like he really has any interest in the sport, guarantee the limo is off shortly after the green flag falls. With President Bush it was understandable, but Trump, hypocrisy Do you know all the construction workers and subcontractors Trump has stiffed?
NASCAR already have those that think attending an auto race makes them patriotic, they want an extended audience, in case you haven't noticed, their ratings are fading
The posts from the left on this thread are making your point. It's great publicity. 67% of NASCAR fans support Trump. NASCAR fans don't usually care what some melodramatic basement dweller thinks. There is big bucks at a NASCAR event. The infield isn't cheap. The amount of money in campers sitting in the infield is staggering not to mention the concessions and tickets. Nothing worse than a redneck with money. It's great for the local economy also. It's just so damn fun. Lines of parties and all of them love fast cars, guns, sex and beer. No wonder there are so many on the left that don't like NASCAR.
Wrong. Trump is anti-America. He is destroying American institutions and values. You Cher him on but you don’t realise what he’s really doing.
Here's a little more on the Trump/Pence schemed car https://kickinthetires.net/nxs/joe-...020-scheme-at-daytona-for-mike-harmon-racing/
Strange - because Obama is clearly far more of a patriot than trump. Trump pretends to be but he isn’t.
President George W Bush was grand marshall in 2004. @Larryjohn answered re Obama Nobody in their right mind can argue the patriotism of NASCAR, whether or not you're a fan.
