Trump becomes first president named Daytona 500 grand marshal

Leveraging his campaign at a Nascar event is quite the smart thing to do.

 

I remarked earlier that I was surprised that a New Yorker would be the first GM at Daytona, but Trump doesn't need to pass himself as a working class "good ol' boy" and for that reason I don't think he will. I don't think NASCAR fans and his "good ol' boy" supporters need, want or expect him to pass himself off as one, either.

You know, Democrats once understood such people and connections, but unless those "good ol' boys" are union workers lining Democrat pockets they crap all over them. I think it's great. The great American President grand marshalling the great American race. Plus the presidential limo, and (unless they change plans) they're going to fly low going over the track coming into the airport so folks will see Trump's plane arriving. The race is sold out and scalpers are going nuts jacking up prices.

The posts from the left on this thread are making your point. It's great publicity. 67% of NASCAR fans support Trump. NASCAR fans don't usually care what some melodramatic basement dweller thinks. There is big bucks at a NASCAR event. The infield isn't cheap. The amount of money in campers sitting in the infield is staggering not to mention the concessions and tickets. Nothing worse than a redneck with money. It's great for the local economy also. It's just so damn fun. Lines of parties and all of them love fast cars, guns, sex and beer. No wonder there are so many on the left that don't like NASCAR.
