The wall seems to slow them down, which law enforcement does say helps them in some cases. Is it worth the money and resources if it is defeated by $6 rebar ladders and even cheaper rope ones? I think the wall should be supplemented with an electronic wall to go along with the physical one, although as a Texan from southeast Houston I am a firm believer that most of them just cross the border at the legal crossings. There is a large south American immigrant population here (legal and illegal) , but never heard of anyone doing anything extreme to get here, you just drive or walk across.

Create a short , could be done for fun by human traffickers and drug smugglers and would require lots of repairs and maintenance. More electronic surveillance behind the wall would be better, and more help for the border patrol in detecting when the wall is compromised. The wall is just to slow them down.

I think the important thing that's being missed here is THEY FOUND IT. That would mean it didn't defeat the wall. Nobody promised 100% success 100% of the time...

Nope, we only need 700 of these at a cost of $1 million each. Guaranteed to video, voice record, instruct and stop with pinpoint accuracy any moving object within a 2 mile radius even in the darkest of night.

There is not a wall in history that has not been breached.

Something Trump and his blinded supporters failed to comprehend.

This is key. A physical barrier isn't the 'end all' solution to illegal immigration, it's just an important part of it.

Progressives understand this, that's why they're so critical of it. If you suggested any other thing which would reduce illegal immigration, no matter how rational or effective, progressives would start criticizing it... because they literally want to watch what we have here go up in flames. They're that twisted.

So, we just keep doing what we're doing, as people who love this country. We will win.

Clearly you don't get it. A wall that closes off the easy access points forces invaders to places they will be caught. Places that are easier to patrol. Hell, the threat of the wall decreased the flow. You folks are being disingenuous by trying to make this zero sum...

America always needed a Great Wall to show China how it's done.

The wall is meant to be a deterrent. Everyone knows it won't stop everyone who wants to get across, but it will definitely slow them down.

Democrats want an open border that anyone and everyone from anywhere can walk across and get healthcare and welfare paid for by Americans.

They should just be honest and admit it.

I understand all you need to beat a Trump wall is a little breeze....

All immigrants need to bring are a few battery operated hair dryers and it's game over...

The San Diego wall reduced illegal crossings over 90%. Who could be opposed to that? Seatbelts don't work 100% either, should we get rid of them?

In San Diego, the walls cut illegal immigration by 99%.

I don’t care if they succeed at 75% or 60%. They’re worth every penny. It’s an investment that pays huge dividends.

I do think you will eventually have to take it to the next level which is weaponise your fence, with plenty of warning but lethal when ignored.

Wow, really? Is someone suggesting we build a line of entrenched fighting positions? Haven't heard about that, do tell...

The Maginot Line was built as a deterrent to prevent Germany from advancing from the East. The thought was that the Black Forest was too dense to get an army through, but that's exactly what they did. They simply went around it.

My point being that unless a wall is circular, it has two ends which can be simply walked around.

And, in case you hadn't noticed, the US has literally thousands af miles of open border to our North, East, and West.

How long do you think it will take for people to realize that, just like the Nazi's, the too can just walk around Trump's useless wall?

It is not going to stop one single person who is determined to get here, one way or another.
