No — I know I could spend their money better (in a fiscal sense). That doesn’t mean I am advocating for the ability to do so.

You idea that companies will do what is right for the environment or even others if given free reign is equally, if not more, absurd. There is hundreds of years showing this isn’t the case.

There was a time that folks ignored the reality of population and it's impact....but companies want to stay in business, they stay in business by providing goods and services customers like....they operate to make people happy. That's how they survive.

The US is also the largest economic and military nation on the planet. We are also the 3rd most populous nation on the planet. And our American standard of living coupled with our economy and population requires MASSIVE amounts of resources to sustain.

This is what so many critics don't understand (yet do understand but choose to ignore). This is in regards to anything. All of these policies that "work just fine in other 1st world nations" can't be equally applied to the US because we are orders of magnitude larger in all areas than any other 1st world nation on Earth.

What other nations keep expecting us to do is continue to sacrifice our economic growth and way of life at a greater rate than they themselves are willing to do. I get where it's coming from, it's always the same song and dance when it comes to America. "You guys are so big and so powerful and so rich, you can afford to sacrifice even more than everybody else, France and Germany and other 1st world nations aren't as prosperous as you so if they had to sacrifice then it'll hurt them more".

It's no different than the class warfare that goes on within our own country. "Tax the living crap out of the rich people because they can afford it but don't tax the lower class because they can't".

This is OUR planet, it's not just America's planet. If the rest of the world was genuinely concerned with saving OUR planet then they would be willing to do more. So what is the way forward then? Scientists from all over the world apparently keep saying that the world is screwed in about a decade if we don't get our act together as a PLANET (not as America alone). So since America is "only" reducing our CO2 emissions by 2.9% (more than everybody else) then is the rest of the world just going to sit there with their arms folded and pout and let OUR planet die? America is already leading the way, but if America doesn't extend our lead even more than we already are to save OUR planet then everybody else will just sit back and let us all die?

Which is it? If all of these Paris Climate nations were serious about saving OUR planet then the sheer amount of sanctions against the Chinese and Indians would be on a massive scale never before seen in history. But guess who is putting the pressure on Chinese economic growth? America. Guess who is leading the way in reducing emissions? America. What is everybody else doing? Not as much as America, and that is a fact. But since China and India aren't as prosperous as America it's considered "cruel and mean" to target them, but since we are America we are always free game for critique for some reason.

It's funny how the world likes to pick and choose when to respect America's super power status in the world. We are "the leader of the free world whom the world looks to for guidance and leadership" when they need us for something. But we are "Big mean greedy America with a military industrial complex" the rest of the time. And I'm pretty sure there were articles floating around laughing about how world leaders were all making fun of and trash talking our elected American President during the G20 summit last year.

But now the world wants our help again, even though we are already way further ahead than they are in saving the world. Folks can spin it any way they wish, we are reducing our emissions at a greater rate per capita than anybody else. If they TRULY cared about the planet they wouldn't just sit there and complain about us not doing more, they themselves would do more.

I don’t really have a party that represents my views, the closest I have found is called conservatarian. I believe in a strong fiscal policy which most people do not even consider — even the “fiscal conservatives” seem to abandon this principle rapidly.

I don’t see why you would take my opinion that I could appropriate money in a more fiscally sound way than most people makes me a democrat?

The fact we did this while achieving energy independence and becoming the worlds greatest energy producer is amazing.

    And all on Trumps watch.

I don't understand this. According to statistics, the U.S. reduced its emissions by 2,9% but japan reduced its emissions by 4,3% and the EU reduced its emissions by 5% ... Germany itself by 8%. So how does that calculate to the U.S. leading the world in reducing its CO2 emissions?

Yeah! Good move! Ship all of your worst polluting industry to other countries and then blame those countries for the filth.

And it's still hot until the Earth cools down. But I wouldn't expect any AGW alarmist to figure it out.

It is a universally accepted truth that Democrats know better how to spend other people's money.

The IEA a cult? That’s the International Energy Agency. Well if it’s a cult then here’s the leader of that cult.
