Assange said years ago that the source of the hacked emails wasn't Russia. Download speeds were more consistent with a thumb drive than a download.

There's alot of money in anti-Trump spin, since there is no end of gullible Trump haters.

Sounds like he is trying desperately not to have the UK extradite him to the US.

In any event, what's being reported is he spoke to an ex-GOP Congressman, that Congress floated the idea to John Kelly that if he were to give proof, showing what he had been saying, ie the Russians weren't his source, maybe we could consider a pardon, "or something else" - reports are saying Kelly never communicated that to the President. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2...d-julian-assange-pardon-russia-hack-wikileaks

    "
Rohrabacher told the Wall Street Journal that as part of the deal he was proposing, Assange would have to hand over a computer drive or other data storage device that would prove that Russia was not the source of the hacked emails.

“He would get nothing, obviously, if what he gave us was not proof,” Rohrabacher said.

The report quoted an unnamed administration official as saying that Kelly had told Rohrabacher that the proposal “was best directed to the intelligence community”. The same official said Kelly did not convey Rohrabacher’s message to Trump, who was unaware of the details of the proposed deal."

Just sounds like a Hail Mary to not be brought here to prosecute.

My guess though is he'll be a liberal hero again.

Assange should be extradited to the US, pardonned, naturalized and given a medal.

Every day this doesnt happen is a stain on Trump.

Reporting war crimes or any news is not illegal but it is worthy of a medal and so is his fight for freedom of the press. So he doesn’t need a pardon. He’s also not an American and I doubt he wants to be one. What he needs is reparations from both the UK and the US for persecution for exposing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Do you have any actual proof that this ever was so?

I know of two democratic friends who have voiced their opinion with me, one thinks he's a traitor, the other a hero as you state. I personally have not weighed in on Assange because I have waited to see what would become of him, but after so many years, based on his inactions and the details we have heard slip from his stay in Ecuador, I really think he's another narcissistic blowhard.

From October 2010, until...well....2016. After he released damaging information about the Bush Admin, but before he released damaging information about the Clinton campaign and the DNC corruption.

I do believe him to be a blowhard....

The naturalization would be a defensive measure against attempts by future entities to manufacture crimes for extradition. But, yes, he is due 'reparations' imo as well.

Malcolm Nance is an author, intelligence and foreign policy analyst & counterterrorism and intelligence commentator.

Nance researched Russian intelligence, working as a Russian interpreter and studying KGB history.

Nance describes how Russian intelligence attempted to make their releases of leaked DNC emails appear deniable. In "WikiLeaks: Russia's Intelligence Laundromat", he likens use of the whistleblower website WikiLeaks to money laundering. Nance asserts WikiLeaks willingly collaborated in the operation.

The Plot to Hack America: How Putin's Cyberspies and WikiLeaks Tried to Steal the 2016 Election is a non-fiction book by Malcolm Nance about what the author describes as Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections.

Nance described the black propaganda warfare known as active measures by RT (Russia Today) and Sputnik News. He recounts Vladimir Putin's KGB rise, and details Trump campaign ties to Russia. Nance concludes that Putin managed the cyberattack by hacker groups Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear.

You people believed Trump’s claim that Obama was not an American citizen until he suddenly abandoned that idiotic, racially motivated conspiracy theory.

    What are you talking about?

    You are responding to this

    "Rohrabacher

Well known as Putin's favorite Congressman"

You want "evidence" that he was regarded as such?

    I gave it to you

I believe the issue was whether or not he was born American. Nobody questioned his citizenship that I know of. But there is no doubt people are prone to believe political statements that fit their own position.

Somethings going on in respect to Assange and a pardon. Barr’s DOJ is censoring 302’s requested through FOIA on the specific subject from a range of administration officials including Flynn.

There was definitely talk of an Assange pardon but the administration doesn’t want the public to know the details. I suspect it wouldn’t put a good light on the subject or they’d release the info.
