Gender is binary. Sex is a verb.

How about things you like? You must like something. Do you discuss the things you like? You can't be serious; you don't only discuss the things that bother you. That would be rather odd.

That's a good point. Sometimes we must choose between being nice and being kind. The nice thing is to play along with other people's imaginary friends or genders, but that's never the kind thing to do.

 

It doesn't bother me. It's interesting enough to discuss.

 

Just look at the case of Dennis Avner. It was easy to make him look like a cat. It was not easy to deal with the emotional pain he was dealing with that lead to his suicide. The plastic surgery clearly was not the solution to his problem. The public attention and feedback from both sides was clearly not the solution.

 

Men who think they're women and women who think they're men are exceedingly rare. However, the disorders that compel people to seek attention are myriad. "Transitioning" is currently the most effective way for those compelled to seek attention to do so.

 

This argues to the point of accurately dealing with a problem. While in some cases, the idea of being transgender covers another problem, in others it simply is the problem. Just because a condition can be a mask for another issue, does not mean that the condition doesn't exist. For example, ADD can sometimes mask as high functioning autism, and vice versa. The fact that ADD was looking like autism, doesn't mean autism doesn't exist and need to be treated as itself.

 

If they needed to seek attention then they would continue to do so after transitioning. The vast majority just go about their daily live after transitioning

 

I tend to believe them in proportion to how private they are about it. The most believable are those I don't even know about.
The more public they are about their transition, the more I am left to believe that they are seeking attention. Bruce Jenner comes to mind when I think of a person so afflicted with the desire for attention that they transition because that's currently the best way to get it.

In my opinion, those afflicted with body dysmorphia are much better off than those compelled to seek attention.

We're talking about untreated disease ... and it's left untreated for the worst of reasons - ideology.

 

Let's not pretend they go about their lives in an ordinary and healthy way, though. These people continue to suffer significant depression, and the adjustment disorders which caused the problem in the first place never really go away.

 

But these people do not want to be left alone, they want you to call them a man, when they are a woman, and men want to shower with your daughter, or they will sue you in a court of law.

Some of these people want to drag us into their personal lives, and force us into compliance. So it's not just people wanting to live their private lives, and asking the rest of society to leave them alone in peace.

By being legally compelled to play along, obviously. Compelled speech, and all that. You know .. the thin end of the wedge which always arrives ahead of a police state.

Anybody with 8 dollars can bring a lawsuit. I said brought but anyone with any law knowledge at all understands that to mean "successful" lawsuits. I notice you didn't include any of them In fact, most of what you included were lawsuits on the other side, where some guy was suing because he has to address a person in a manner that his religion doesn't agree with.

Ok fine, I misspoke I should have said successful lawsuits, not just lawsuits. Now, show me a successful lawsuit, show me where a man is now showering with women, because that is what you are implying is going to happen

 

When you make the claim, it is your responsibility to back it up, not others to hunt down it's validity.
