    Republicans are on the rebound.

A record number of candidates have filed to run for office in the House and Senate, breaking last cycle’s history-making numbers from the same point in time. But unlike the 2018 midterms when the surge was driven by Democrats, the congressional boom this time is on the Republican side, according to the latest federal candidate and financial activity report obtained exclusively by Fox News.

The uptick in GOP candidates is happening in diverse corners in America, including plenty of competitive primaries for vacant seats in red districts and even a slate of Republican contenders running long-shot bids in safely blue districts.

“It's all about enthusiasm driven by the president, both negative and positive,” said Sarah Bryner, research director at the Center for Responsive Politics. “[Republicans] also saw the Democrats do it last cycle. So they know that it is possible. They saw some seats picked off that I think shocked the party and the public. They want to get those back."

Well, I'd be damned! Who could have thought it'd be possible with impeached President, and all we hear is about the Blue Wave that is sweeping America! Looks like the Conservatives are really energized by President Trump and are determined to take the House back and to keep White House and the Senate.

My message to the Democrats is simple - please continue to investigate Trump and hopefully, impeach him again, just before the elections. :D

Republicans mocked Democrats because they had so many candidates entering various races but now that Republicans are doing it, its a great amazing thing? Hypocrisy much?

    Republicans will keep the Senate
    Democrats will keep the House
The Executive is up in the air

Well, did not hear about mocking Democrats for running, other than these Democrats who have no biznis running for the public office. We'll see what's gonna happen. but your prediction is not a safe bet.

The most amusing aspect is that the Right courteously warned the Left about all of these inevitable and commonsense repercussions between the Mueller Report political fiasco and the faux impeachment but our political Left was soooooooooooooooo convinced that each and every time "This time we will get Trump!" that they mindlessly plowed ahead anyway while joyfully riding their own emotions as if they were surf boards, determined to ignore the predictable gathering of political sharks in the waters.

There is only 20ish seats that give the Democrats the majority. With the way the the dems have run things....... there is a very good chance they're going lose the HOR

IMHO they only won the House last time because of the tailwinds of the Russia hoax behind them. Mueller purposely delayed his conclusion of no collusion until after that election. I think he knew there was nothing there when he began.

2020 will be Red Dawn for Democrats...

We need to hand the neo-communist the biggest defeat in history. We need to not only win trump 4 more years, we need to take the house and make further gains in the Senate.

Remember all those nasty things Democrats/neo-commies said about trump supporters and America in general and show them what America thinks of them.

The days of America last, managed decline, new normal are over and a new American golden age is beginning

Perhaps polls will change but current ones do not indicate a level of change that would net that level of loss. It is certainly possible, just unlikely.

Indeed. And with the current crop of Democrat Presidential contenders, all bets are off, be it Federal or State legislatures or any other public offices. Any American, Conservative or Liberal, should be terrified of Mike and Bernie, Pete or Pocahontas and vote Republican.

The polls also showed HRC was going to win too. You can't rely 100% on polls. I had to rerun the math, its 21 seats that give the majority. If I was a Dem in HOR, I would be sweating.

And 35 or so Republican incumbents jumping the ship, putting otherwise safe seats into play. Not this time.

2016 will repeat itself all over again. Polls do lie.

Either vote republican or -- if they are liberal -- find some relatively sane and at least semi-honest third party candidate to vote for instead.

The impeachment didn't help that is for sure. People who are hate trump no matter what are going to vote dem. The people who can think well that is different.

They showed her winning the popular vote by 3.2% and she won by 2.1% (well within the margin of error), they also showed slim leads in WI PA and MI which were all within the MOE — trump won them by less than 0.8%.

2016 wasn’t the blowout that the right claims it is — he barely won and the results from many polls were fairly accurate.

I don’t care if you dismiss them because you don’t like what they say (it’s a type of Confirmation bias that everyone is guilty of) but it is somewhat dishonest to outright ignore all polling because of a very small statistical error that was well within the MOE.

    Of course it was:

Clinton has 90 percent chance of winning: Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation

NEW YORK (Reuters) - With hours to go before Americans vote, Democrat Hillary Clinton has about a 90 percent chance of defeating Republican Donald Trump in the race for the White House, according to the final Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation project.

    So?

    Let me get this straight.

In your opinion, People who can "think" will vote for Republicans?

"People who are hate trump no matter what are going to vote dem.

The people who can think well that is different
    ".

    Wow.:smh:

So throwing an egregious Group Insult (at anyone who doesn't vote for Republican) by accusing them of NOT being "people who can think" (thus, blatantly denigrating their intelligence) is your idea of treating people who disagree with you politically with respect?

    Wow.:smh:

Anyway, back to the OP Topic, it seems logical that there would be an increase in GOP House candidates given the amount of seats they lost last time (setting up GOP Primaries in Districts that had long-time incumbents before 2018.).

Not a reason for the expected red wave. Trump's performance and his impechment are.

People who vote along party just because they're part of that party, are the one who can't think. Ie look at minorities?

    Nah.

    That is just your OPINION.

Anyway, I can give you another reason.

If Sanders gets the nomination, a lot of seats are going to be in play and those GOP House candidates want to ride Bonespurs' Coattails.

No matter who gets the nomination, GOP House candidates will want to ride President Trump's success, you're right about that.

Do you think, you've been shocked on Nov. 8 2016? :D

    Huh?

So now you are saying that "minorities" "can't think"?:smh:

You may want to quit while you're behind.

You seem to be digging a deeper hole.
