A hot dog maybe once a year, with invariable regrets and results afterwards.

It's chopped nuts, for one. They're sold in the cooking section.

They stay on because they get pressed into the guacamole.

However they have somewhat healthy Hog Dogs at the Grocer
today. Not just Kosher hot dogs but even Oscar Meyer has Select
Angus beef franks.A Beef hot dog should have juices.
    Yes,that is fat content.Therefore don't make a daily habit.
But few things in life are more simple and splendid than a nice
juicy hot dog on a good bun with yer favorite toppings.

[QU OTE="WestFork, post: 1071459019, member: 68555"]One should always use mayonnaise (preferably on Wonder Bread) when making a tomato sandwich.

One should never use mayonnaise on a hot dog. Or ketchup for that matter.[/QUOTE]
I like ketchup a hot dog. In fact sometimes a cold hot dog with ketchup and diced onions.

I like hot dogs (but only Nathans) and bologna. But then again, I also like fried Spam and the occasional can of Vienna Sausages.

    Mmm, meat by-products. :knifefork:

Well ... Golly ... surprise surprise surprise { Gomer Pyle } doesn't that beat all.
As usual I went To Wall* Mart before the sun came up.To make sure
and start the week off.Plus get rid of some of my Garbage.I don't
use Garbage pickup.I saved enough over the decades to help
    buy a new car.Plus I sold my Budweiser stock.In wal*mart this morn
There was a Little Old Lady { Foreign accent } asking if I was tall enough.
I was in the canned goods { Chili aisle } looking at canned chili.I have
leftover strip steak and bought some nice Aidells Andouille sausage
and w/fresh mushrooms and Carrots fixed last night. But I used store
bought Gravy and added wine and my own seasoning and it was missing
something. So I was thinking last night to just get store bought Chili and
it will have body.So I looked at the labels already knowing what to expect.
Mostly sodium. So this lady who I thought was talking to herself out loud
was actually asking If I was Tall Enough. So I went over to find out what
she was asking. So I said sure. She wanted on the top shelf some Vienna
little cans of stuff. They were in packs of 6 and shrink-wrapped in deep blue.
Turned out they weren't those Little Vienna Sausage { same can } but some
kind of Vienna cracker spread.I looked at the outer blue wrap and said
Chicken spread with some other ingredients. This lady needed 4 packs.
She already had 2 in her cart.I figure she was in her mid- 80's and probably
lived alone.Knew exactly what she wanted { preferred }.
I don't think those little Vienna sausage are too done healthy.Nor is
SPAM ... which of course is still cooked in the can.Unless one wants to
enter the Old Folks home early and play a version of " kick the can '
    as in the movie - Twilight Zone : The Movie - { 1983 }.

It's not so bad... I had Vienna sausages recently for the first in years and they weren't as good as I remembered. Spam maybe twice a year unless I'm in Hawaii where it's a popular breakfast meat. ;)

Since we’re on the topic of luncheon meats (mystery and otherwise), I wonder how many have eaten braunschweiger. I think it may be an east coast/Rust Belt thing, but maybe not.

No thank you. Had that growing up and just... no.

Pair that up with lima beans and you may have effectively created a Collateral Damage repellant.

I like braunschweiger, but don't eat it very often. Had a gf once who LOVED gooseliver (as it's called here) on Roman Meal bread with mustard. Pretty tasty. :)

Good morning, fans of Tues. We're having a brkfst celebration for a newly married co-worker. Bring on the breakfast tacos and donuts!!

It’s definitely an acquired taste. Maybe if you doctored it up a little? If you’re ever in Pittsburgh stop by Max's Allegheny Tavern and try their version of the sandwich. Braunschweiger, bacon, hardboiled egg, sweet onion, tomato, spinach and “special“ sauce on rye bread.

My Mom was a very good cook { Taught a Home Economics course after
Graduating college }.That was before she got married.Plus she wasn't
permitted to cook the steaks { mostly sirloin } because she liked her
steak well done.So she had many dishes. Her Hamburgers were not good
because she overcooked them to death and they were too round.
But her only dish I truly dreaded eatin' was her Ham Casserole. She used
Spam.Man did that Ham Casserole stink up the house. She also put ketchup
on top plus rings of pineapple.Again ... The Smell.I will try and post what
that smell resembles. Not an easy smell to describe. And I like Describin' stuff.

I cant eat oatmeal for breakfast. Ive tried but it makes me really hungry all day long. The Quaker Oats guy now seems shady to me.

lol I had to edit the swear word. A momentary laps in demureness.

Ive worn surgical masks. I remember one time there was an anesthesia airborne spill in a room I was in and we all had to wear double surgical masks. I still got so dazed and confused from the airborne anesthesia I had to excuse myself from the room and focus as hard as I could to walk outside that room and in the hallway to get fresh air. Frightening on more than one level.

Surgical masks do not protect you. They protect other people from what you exhale. If there ever came a time you needed a mask, research the hell out of what you are purchasing before you buy it to ensure it is protecting you. Also, protect your eyes.

    Just some friendly advice.
Oh and if the call goes out to stay home dont bulk up on oatmeal. You will ride the wave chowing down and feeling hungry at the same time. lol

Oatmeal is a good bone warmer on a chilly day. It's ageless.

I know a Scot or two that by no definition could be called 'babies'. :D

Agree... with enough butter & sugar, it's palatable. :)
