He really does need to fire that gal at CDC.
Wait. Let me think about who I believe.

Obtaining a sufficient number of gowns and masks, educating the public, and working with healthcare professionals to ensure they are prepared to handle a potential onslaught or real and fictional illnesses caused by this virus.

There is a Washington post article about the disruption to the supply chain on facemasks, but linking it just would link to the basic website because I have viewed too many articles.

Personally, my form of preparation is to research the virus and follow the news closely.

Love the bold and underlining. I think we all know you probably disagree with your president. That said, President Trump did not say the virus would "go away". He said that was a possibility during the hotter summer months and he is correct. As for him having great knowledge about the virus, it appears he is in good company.

Trump and admin have to walk a fine line. The CDC showed how to do that in their statement:

"Ultimately, we expect we will see community spread in this country," Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters.

"It's not so much a question of if this will happen anymore, but rather more of a question of exactly when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illness," she said.

"We are asking the American public to work with us to prepare in the expectation that this could be bad," she said. "I continue to hope that in the end we'll look back and feel like we are overprepared, but that is a better place to be in than being underprepared.

So you're not buying any masks/gowns (i prefer tyvek hooded coveralls) yourself.

    Why not?

a reusable mask with P100 filters and a tyvek suit is less than $50.

The govt already has warehouses full of this stuff, btw.

He can't golf while on a plane returning from a very successful state meeting with India. I know some dems think Trump is larger than life and in some ways he is, still some acts of God are out of his control. Look to comrade Bernie and Mary Ann Williamson for the comfort you seek. :roflol::roflol::roflol:

Really grasping at straws now. Your party is the real disaster. How come you fail to do anything about your sinking ship of fools?

Successful? Nah. I did notice that Trump praised India for its peaceful 'handling' of its religious issues....and the very next day, in New Delhi, there was a riot involving Hindus v Muslims. He was not far away. Trump has zero understanding of India, and Modhi is well aware of that. He has played Trump like a very cheap fiddle and has enhanced his standing there, not Trumps.

So, let me get this right. He's projecting an positive demeanor in public while behind the scenes he's attempting to make sure that the coronavirus is as contained as much as possible so it can't spread among Americans. …… Sounds like something that a Leader and POTUS would do?

Not surprised that CNN and certain Democratic Party Leaders would attempt to castigate Trump for this, and others spread it. Fear sells. And using fear politically against your opponent is even better. At least in some minds.

Wouldn't it be refreshing to have a president who could speak like this (and I don't mean only in complete sentences)?

If trump were a stringed instrument he'd be more of a cello or double bass.

Why would they? What's more deadly than the virus itself is the panic associated with the virus.

Why would they ever tell you **** is about to hit the fan and cause nationwide panic and mayhem?

They're not going to tell you ****. Nothing more than the need to know at least.

I bought food and water last night, masks and bullets last week.

Try finding a n95 mask now. You cant. They're sold out everywhere, and they arent making more... at least not for sale.

When it hits in the US, and it will, its going to cause an economic collapse... the scale of which is the only question.

I’m actually rooting for the virus. The planet could use some population reduction. It would sure help climate change, water shortages, housing shortages, rush hour, rolling blackouts and the like. It’s natures way and we should let it do it’s thing. Weed out the weak and sickly amongst us.

If new cases really have peaked in China, this whole thing will blow over in the coming weeks and they will have cried wolf for the umpteenth time.

Ask yourself which is more likely, millions of people die from pneumonia from an outbreak that started a few months ago, or the media cries wolf over Trump.

There is projecting a positive attitude while telling the truth ("we are monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond in any manner necessary to ensure the safety of Americans and the global supply chains") and there is projecting a positive attitude while lying ("it is under control"..."we are close to a vaccine"..."all Americans are fine.")

So you're problem is in how he's projecting a positive attitude? He's not saying the words that you want him to say? Isn't that kinda….petty?

It appears we have a potential health problem. As I understand it, this will be come clear as events unfold. Here is what is troubling. Trump, in his genius decided to roll back the CDC budget in favor of tax cuts for his buddies. Now he has appointed all his buddies to "acting" positions in key agencies. Most of these are Trump allies and sycophants. Let's see how they handle a looming crisis.
