There is a difference in worrying about things, and then running around with your hair on fire. Of course it is a serious threat you're dealing with a disease. CDC said the something about SARS and Bird Flu. How did that turn out here in the US?

So you agree with me a $15?hr minimum wage is insane. How do you feel about unions?
Sounds like you are turning into a conservative. Congrats on coming to your senses.

I posted the relevant extract which is this:

Countries where the CDC is planning to scale back include some of the world’s hot spots for emerging infectious disease, such as China, Pakistan, Haiti, Rwanda and Congo. Last year, when Congo experienced a potentially deadly Ebola outbreak in a remote, forested area, CDC-trained disease detectives and rapid responders helped contain it quickly.

Well it's true as a human right in that some live high and some have to live low just barely getting by because inequality is the natural order of the universe.

It will always be so. Psychologists have noted that if those at the bottom get a little more the people at the top arrange things so they get more of more -- to stay ahead by the same distance in the race.

Winning by minimum wage is but an illusion.

There are no slave wages, stop being a drama queen. Let the free market decide, it's the best system we've devised.

Sure, but here the kicker, our ability to fight infectious disease like Corona, Ebola etc etc is top of the world. So if you catch it, 90% you're going to fine.

No, but what you are implying runs counter to what we're hearing from every authoritative agency.

There will almost certainly be some deaths. Even the regular perennial influenza has already caused more than 10,000 deaths so far this season.

Death is a part of life they say.

Indeed. But what happens if the virus starts spreading through communities? People not prepared could find themselves in a bad spot.

That's the way it always goes for people who do not pay attention and who do not think for themselves.

The 2020 CDC budget request is 500 million more than in 2018. Budgets are proposed by the executive branch but passed by the democrat controlled house. If congress wants to grant more money, it can. Don't let Shermer lie to you, again.

    Then you would have read...

The PPHF is the “core of public health programs” in the U.S., Frieden says. It was established in 2010 and financed by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), with the goal of improving health outcomes and enhancing the quality of health care. Initially, the ACA authorized $500 million for the fund in 2010, which was to grow to $2 billion per year by 2015. The funding was to be mandatory, and therefore protected during yearly appropriations allocations.

Despite such protective measures, the PPHF has become a coffer to cover programs not directly related to public health initiatives supported by its mandate. For example, in February 2012, Congress passed and then-President Barack Obama approved legislation that cut the fund by $6.25 billion over nine years (fiscal years 2013-21) to provide money for a scheduled cut to Medicare physician payments. And in December 2016, the fund was cut again by $3.5 billion over seven years (fiscal years 2018-24) to pay for the 21st Century Cures Act.
