Posted this in a different thread as well:

    Population China: 1.3 billion
    Cases China: 82,000
    Deaths China: 2,800

so using those numbers vs US population of 330 million and assuming the same infection rate and death rate:

    Cases US: 20,500
    Deaths US: 700

But let triple it cause of “Trump”!

    Cases US: 61,500
    Deaths US: 2,100

Current death rate by day for all causes in the US is:
    7,400 per day

Hardly the end of da world!

I’m at work but somebody can work out what the percentage of the population that might beinfected and die. Gonna be pretty damn small!

Whoa! You should report this astounding discovery to the CDC! I'm sure they have no idea.

No, I don't think it is petty to expect the President to avoid telling lies.

I would like you to provide a source for "folks from the CDC and the NIH" because I think the only person who has said it would go away after it got warmer is Donald Trump.

No, he's not the ONLY one who said that. No virus's die but like flu, they do have their season. In this hemisphere, that generally happens when temperatures warm enough, usually around April.

I provided you the three quotes from his one public statement which can definitely be considered lying.

Since Trump doesn't live inside my mind, I can only reply with an unemotional fact. You're right. The president is never responsible for growth. Government only hinders growth and Trump is less of a hindrance than the other party.

You must admire Trump to emulate him as you do.

    SARS
    Ebola

They "went away" and we control outbreaks now and vaccine going into human trials now.

Just pitiful how the left and the Democrats want to politicize this.

Yes the Democrats are trying to create a panic and hope to capitalize politically on this.

Flu viruses aren't spore formers and still they survive and keep coming back to battle a new-fangled flu shot every year. It's a miracle pathogen if you look at it from a viral point of view.:roflol:

As I mentioned to the first person that tried to reference SARS and Ebola, one of the reasons why this virus is more of a risk to Americans is explicitly because it can milder. It is entirely possible to get the illness, not show any symptoms or to only experience a very mild set of symptoms (to the point of not recognizing that you are sick with the Coronavirus), and still spread the virus.

This is not a matter of trying to politicize the threat. It is; however, a matter of trying to hold Trump accountable for his decisions and statements.

As an initial matter, if COVID-19 starts to become a recurring yearly infection like the Flu, does that mean that it has gone away? Second, you quoting the actual experts and their statements on the subject just makes the case that Trump is further lying. Third, Trump made several other claims about COVID-19.

Do you think he is right to claim that it is "under control?" He is not.

Do you think he is right to say that we are very close to a vaccine? He is not.

Do you think he is right to say that all of the US citizens infected with the coronavirus are getting better? He is not.

The problem here is that the Coronavirus is not limited to China. In fact, now that a Brazillian has tested positive, it can be found in all continents, not including Antartica.
This thing is long from over.
South Korea coronavirus cases soar to 1,261 in highest single-day spike

What you wanted is a rushed comment that would have caused panic so you can blame him later.. In Wrights words you wanted conflict and outrage.

You didnt get it so here you are trying to create it anyways.

You keep posting links of cases of the virus but avoid deaths why is that...?
    https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm

Notice that is not the corona virus you want us all in panic over....

Uh...yes, Trump's statements were rushed and ill-informed (if not outright examples of lying). That is demonstrated repeatedly throughout this thread.

    You repeating yourself proves nothing...

How many people have died this year in this country due to influenza... Now how many have died from this strain of the corona virus?
