I've told this before but when I toured Europe and stayed in
London, there is one store that is remowned the world over.
The Huge Harrads of London. They have Food Courts or Halls
where dozens of little Butcher shops showcase their meats.
I musta seen a couple dozen versions of Corned Beef and Pastrami.
Just looking at them starts one to wonderin'.Now it was against the law
to transport stuff like meats { Cold cuts }.So I dint. But my Aunt did.
She snuck a nice salami thru customs. There was also a limit on
Bottles of Liquor.Just one per person. So I bought 2 bottles of really
good Armanac at a fancy store in Paris, that only handled Armanac.
I drank one the last few days of the trip.I kinda shocked the Tour Bus
Ladies { who I enjoyed sitting behind and listening to their Southern
Twang as they were school teachers from Tennessee} each time I
cracked open that Armanac Bottle with it's heady scent.I was sitting
at the back of the bus then. The way it worked is every day you sat in the
seat behind the one you sat in the day before.I also bought a pint of
Extra Zytnia Polish Vodka.Poland is where Vodka was born.
    The Armanac was a 1974 Domaine de MOUCHAC { Bas Armanac }
I recall each bottle cost 50 American dollars.I still have the bottle.

It was unspoken, but understood when I was a kid. Eat it or go hungry.

“When you get hungry enough you will eat it and be glad you got it.” That is what my grandfather would say if you said you didn’t like something at mealtime.

When my kids were older I used to tell them, “Drink your coffee. People in India are awake.”

Gringa tacos with the boxed taco shells, hamburger, and a taco seasoning packet?
Street tacos here are on small 4” corn tortillas.

Yep, I'm a gringa alright. Don't get me wrong... I'd eat your tacos. But the cilantro would have to go. Tastes like soap to me. Yuck

This went beyond lol'ing… you have a very dark, twisted sense of humor. I like that in a person.

Eat it. It will taste better tonight then it will tomorrow night.

She wasn't kidding, either. More than once I had 'leftovers' for dinner. And this was before microwaves to warm it up.

Geez Louize. That ain't what Northerers tell their kids at the
supper table. All a kid would have to do is try some, make a god awful
face and turn pale.Kids up north adapt quicker.
That is why their Great, great Grandpappy's won the Civil war.
Same basic approach as to teaching a Kid to eat their vegetables.
    All their vegetables.
Once one them Northerner Kid grows up they can always use :
