Young people have moved on. TV shows even make fun of people holding the aforementioned values. They're the embarrassing relatives who say the wrong thing at the dinner table in front of friends.
A lot of good it did. Boomers turned Trumpers.
A lot more university educated Millennials.

How you can defend homophobia, racism, sexism, press ahead with the $50b annual "war on drugs," etc. is beyond me.

Exactly. Once these young people get out in the real world, they turn Conservative.

Doesn't matter. University educated parents still don't want their children going to school with Black kids. The schools are more segregated now than they were in the time of Brown v. Board of Education.

People espouse liberal values on when it is cheap to do so.

BTW, did you see my thread on how the racial achievement gap is greatest in Progressive cities and least in Conservative cities.

Progressive policies are a failure in many ways. People see that and vote for Trump when nobody is looking.

And of course those things are mostly the fantasy of the left. When people decide all whites are white supremacists- THEY are the racists. They are promoting racism as a political weapon, not as an observation of reality. It's a sham front, running rampant among the dems and the left who don't have any real points to use. But you know that.

The war on drugs- I've posted, I think three times, a totally different approach that would stop the illegal drug cartels in their tracks. The long term war on drugs hasn't worked; I'm perhaps on of the few that say it's a bad idea. However I'm not one of those is favor of just legalizing them, because they kill thousand of people each year.... so I'm not with the liberal druggies on that.

Certainly not homophobic.... unless you call allowing to declare their sexuality at will and walk into places where they don't belong homophobic, and that is not. Idiot-phobic perhaps? Not that either, because that implies fear of people too dense to know what gender they are. What I feel there isn't fear.....

So.... you haven't seen me do any of the things you list.
    So.....you are WRONG, again.

Au contraire. Homophobia, racism, sexism ... they're real.
    Of course. Relevance?
They? There is a fair amount of racism in older adults--white, black, asian. One of the big things holding back progress is the failure to deal with racism in minority communities.
Make the drugs available to addicts. That doesn't mean selling them is legal, or possessing them without registering as an addict is okay.
It's not about you, me, or anyone we know.

Most educated people aren't into racism, sexism, and homophobia.

"Conservative" has been rewired as Trumpism, a huge turnoff for young people.
No, they don't want their kid bussed to another school further away. They're okay with the black kids in the neighborhood. (Caveat--poor communities are a different matter.)
Same with conservative values. So what?
Didn't. There are a lot of variables, so I don't think we can draw conclusiins.
Trump is a false prophet. He isn't doing spit for the average guy.

Conservatism is always a turn off for young people. Aren't you old enough to remember the '60s?

Here's the article on the achievement gap.

"But our results demonstrate that there is a negative difference between our most progressive and most conservative cities, and it can’t be explained away by factors such as city size, racial demographics, spending, poverty or income inequality. In cities where most of the residents identify as political progressives, educational outcomes for marginalized children lag at a greater rate than other cities."

    https://brightbeamnetwork.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/The-Secret-Shame_v4.pdf

Why is it impossible for you to even consider the idea that some Progressive policies are ill-conceived?

Most educated people- and by that I mean the educated millennials whom I believe you refer to- are the very people pushing racism, sexism and homophobia to make them hot political topics and weapons. The same people who wish to simply repeal drug laws and call addiction freedom of choice- then put the addicts on welfare because they need help. They are unable to distinguish right from wrong, except by political value. That means they don't really give a damn about those people or the effect of fanning the flames and trying to turn them into a lynch mob. Real people have been reducing racism for many decades, and have it almost extinguished to the extent possible, until it became politically advantages to resurrect it and use it for slander. You may admire that- I don't.

Education is not a degree- that is a piece of paper that has been declining in validity for a number of years. Education is the combination of knowledge, and understanding plus the skill to apply it well, and to do that with integrity. If you don't have that, your degree is a fraud, a fake front you hide behind. Unfortunately we have allowed many "universities" to teach something else for some time now.

So far, you have yet to make a single point that I can say is relevant to the real world of today- at least not to any kind of solution or understanding of our problems.

Reactionary nonsense (like Trumpism), yes; principled conservatism, no.
    It's propaganda, not analysis.
Where do you get this stuff?

I get this stuff from your arrogant dismissal of a very interesting study of the racial achievement gap.

We support President Trump, in part, because he sees things as they actually are and what they could be instead of dealing in fear mongering propaganda to scare people into compliance.

I cannot understand how thinking, responsible adults can say they love their children but:
    --hate patriots
    --wish socialism upon them
    --want illegals to vote
--justify killing hundreds of thousands/yr of unborn children
--scare them to death with climate change nonsense.

Most people are opinion followers, not opinion leaders. Millennials are reacting to the homophobia, racism, and sexism they see coming from older Americans. I keep telling you about my experiences with them over my years in educating senior high school students and adults.
That's a crazy generalization. I don't know anyone who calls drug addiction "freedom of choice." You're as much as smearing people who actually work for and with addicts.

People don't choose addiction as a lifestyle. We can take some of the $50b we're wasting on the "war in drugs" and help addicts who want to escape their addiction. The others we can deal with as they present--their drugs if they behave, cutting them off from their drugs if they don't along with free room and board in the slammer.
You anti-drug warriors care when you lock up marijuana users? How is that caring?
I'm sorry, but racism is still bad in this country.
I don't know what you think universities are "teaching," but they're not much different than they were even fifty years ago.
I'm not surprised you feel this way given what I think is your unrealistic view of young people.
