What the hell are you talking about? The guy was convicted in a military court.

I mean... if you don't know that, then you don't know anything about the case. So why would you even be talking about it if you're not interested?

A conviction in and of itself does not mean anything specific, as has been demonstrated numerous times in civilian courts. Do the group known as the "central park five" come to mind? They were convicted of crimes they did not commit.

Yes it does. It means he was found guilty by a jury of his peers of being a war criminal.

You think he was wrongly convicted? Well... once convicted the burden of proof shifts. Now it's yours.

Here is a clue for you. War crimes are defined by international Treaty/Law. Not by liberal news media.

Of a very minor crime at worst. It was the equivalent of a guy being charged with murder but instead of being convicted of murder he was convicted of jaywalking while fleeing the crime scene.

In this country today, the Age of Trump, that is what americans do. They brag about murder, they brag about torture, they brag about war crimes. Some are decorated for such behavior.

Though it is true that, even as Donald was dodging the draft in those days, the country lionized Lt. Calley.

What makes you think the country "lionized Lt. Calley"? IIRC lots of people made excuses for him regarding his role in the Mi Lai Massacre but that wasn't because they supported his actions but that they saw him as a scapegoat for U.S. policy in Vietnam.

and once again it is not "murder" to kill enemies.

False statements. Extreme stereotypes. Extreme hyperbole. False generalizations.

This s**t is not healthy. Google hyperbole, inner pain, and borderline personality disorder. Just saying.

However, not to worry. The draft dodging Biden (4F) or the draft dodging Bernie "old hippy" Sanders (Conscientious Objector) will save us.

If I were in battle, I would want sadistic killers with me instead of a bunch of ******* that's for sure.

Great clue! Now... use it and do a bit of research, like my sig suggests. Unless looking silly because you didn't do your research is something you don't actually mind.

I don't know the definition of "minor war crime" but I don't see the relevance.

I have no idea where jaywalking would be a crime. But the specific topic of the debate you jumped into is the need for a professional military. We don't need professional citizens that much.

He was only convicted of posing for a picture with a dead terrorist. They sentenced as if he was convicted of the more serious crimes. For whatever reason, the court martial board did not find him guilty of the more serious crimes and as such, he should not be considered guilty of those crimes.

The "more serious crime" was murder. And he was sentenced to demotion. So you think that the punishment for murder is demotion?

I know you never do any research before you write. But have you ever tried at least focusing on the conversation before you post?

I was responding to your statements. They do not sentence someone for a crime for which they were found not guilty. Whether or not he murdered anyone or not is not relevant. Only what he was convicted of is relevant.

It is a war crime to commit military aggression against another country that has not attacked you, and to kill innocent civilians in the process.

Wrong. Political parties are rather an illusion. There is no meaningful or significant differences between the Dems and Repubs, especially in matters of war.

It is only principled and courageous individuals that can make a difference. That's why JFK, MLK and RFK were assassinated. Those who don't play ball with the MIC will be taken out.

JFK staged a coup d'etat to eliminate resistance to the US military occupation of Vietnam.

Vote Democrat for More No-Win War!

Or vote for Trump to give peace a chance.
