California university fired 54 grad students who were striking for higher pay

I was surprised to see a CA university do it. I wish it was Berkley but oh well. Maybe just maybe the people of CA are waking up at last.....

 

I am on the right. I earn below the median household income. I oppose minimum wage hikes and I do indeed care about myself and my fellow workers.

But we are not on minimum wage. 2% of the labor force is, and they have a high rate of turnover.

Don't mistake ideological difference with a lack of care.

 

You do know that minimum wage in Cali is $12/hr right? And that Cali has had a majority Dem control for years?

So over privileged grad students can milk more money out of the presents that pay for it? Poor babys that have to travel a little bit.

No, the reason why the minimum wage is so low is because both of the parties have been encouraging illegal immigration and because you don't have to pay the politicians slave class minimum wage they undercut the American worker. They aren't doing jobs that Americans won't do they are doing jobs that it's illegal to pay Americans that little too do.

now wait just a darn minute. The prez of the univ is Janet Napolitano, a former Obama lacky, and she pulls down at least $570,000 per year. How much is enough Janet? Don't you earn enough? She should pay the 54 students the $1,412 per year as that would still leave her $493,572 per year. As a good liberal she should be willing to spread the wealth. Instead, she fires the poor little lefties

That is actually a commen issue in all college communities. A good reason to find a job elsewhere where housing is less inflated.
